Home made scroll saw bench slope or not to slope?

Axminster do a couple of stands, one for £32 and an Excaliber one for £75. The cheaper one gets a very poor review from one purchaser, both are also 4 legs so no self levelling. I guess I will proceed with a jake the peg stand in wood

Home made scroll saw bench slope or not to slope?

This is a quote form the Hegner website re the quick release clamp, "The Quick Clamp can be mounted in the top arm of your Hegner scrollsaw. Especially useful for inside cuts. The blade can be threaded through a small hole drilled in the work piece and easily fixed into the quick clamp without...

Home made scroll saw bench slope or not to slope?

Not sure I could run to the Hegner stand at the moment, I thinks it is £175... I could make a hell of a wooden stand for that money. I am currently running the my New Hegner on my workbench without bolting or clamping down, there is a small amount of vibration but not what I would call...

Home made scroll saw bench slope or not to slope?

The story of me and the scroll saw I ended up with, covers the last 6 days and 3 saws.... Just set up my new Hegner 1. Started with a Peugot From my local tool shop. This proved vibrate excessively although a very solid saw, quite difficult to change the blade. Took this back and ordered the...

Home made scroll saw bench slope or not to slope?

Very new to scroll sawing ... so new I have just taken delivery of my saw today. For the next week or so I will be using it at my workbench and standing up. I would like to make a stand for it so that I don't have to keep lugging it from its stored position to the bench each time. I have found...

I contacted Hegner UK and there are no base models in stock, earliest is September. Dilemma I would like to have a saw on my bench in the next few days... Impatient as ever. Thanks for your thoughts... Interestingly enough not a comment in favour of the Axi. Or are people too embarrassed to...

    Axminster scroll saw... Hegner look-a-like

OK. I think I get it !!!! The Hegner is the cream of the scroll saws. I just can't run to that price.. and EBay is pretty baren at present. What do users of the Axi AWFS18 think of their saw, and have any of you made a comparison with the equivalent Hegner? Excalibur also looks good but vey...

I have found a uK source for Porter cable which are reconditioned but cost nearly as much as a new one, and £20 more than an import. I will keep looking, but looks like an imprt is the way.. great tip about Amazon.com as they do stock compatible routers. Thanks

    Fixed Base Router

I have searched for threads regarding UK suppliers of fixed base routers, and they all appear to be pre 2008. Just wondering if anyone is aware of a UK supplier of fixed base routers suitable for the incra lift system. Either 240 or 110 volts

    Incra jig Ultra Lite

The router table is installed on the right of the tale saw, before I fit my old Freud ft2000 I want to look at the Router Raizer. I don't want to keep scrabbling under the table to adjust or pull the router plate out each time. I like the the adapted right able jig. What are the sliders made of?

    Planer Thicknesser dilema

Well here I go off to try put the Thicknesser and Jointer or should I say Surfacer and Jointer. The aim is to have a little practice, then recheck the the surfacers strings and hopefully prepare some wood to make a basic box.

Table saw and mitre saw not working

If you are worried about damp try running a dehumidifier for a couple of hours before using your garage. However, garages by their very nature are wind and water proof (well almost), but quite often match the outside humidity. A dehumidifier will help a little and if this is the cause of your...
