    Ear defenders

I find EAR Soft plugs work great for me. However, when I'm using an angle grinder for example, I also wear my Optime III muffs. Having plugs and muffs on makes one hell of a difference.

    Quenching small round 'bubble' marks?

What grade steel did you use? The only grade of tool steel that should be oil quenched is O1. W types should be water quenched and stainless types should all be air quenched (ie; left to cool naturally).

Infill bargain or rusty waste of money

I don't know, the mouth and blade look OK. I reckon it could clean up alright. Although I wouldn't have paid that sort of money for a doer-upper myself.

    DIY Secondary Glazing

To get the best from those you want to fit them on the outer edge of the reveal (ie; as far inside the room as possible and creating a large "air gap") :)

Fitting double glazed units to timber doors?

Hot melt sealant is not designed for continuous immersion and this does lead to failure of the seal. What's more important is to make sure that the unit sits completely on the packers. Scrub plane and jointer plane recommendations

    My #6 is about 2 1/2" longer than my #5 1/2 :)

Scrub plane and jointer plane recommendations

Would a #6 Fore be any good to you? Not much smaller than the #7. I picked up a Silverline #6 from Amazon for under £20 and it's perfectly good enough for any job I throw at it, even with the OEM iron. I may upgrade to a Stanley iron in the future when this one is worn out. Having said that...

advice on what trim router to buy

Personally I'd opt for the Makita RT0700CX2 kit with fixed and plunge bases. Don't buy from Axi though, they're about £60 more expensive than FFX or ITS.

    Woodturning Chisel Sharpening Jigs.

I think using a horizontal wet grinder with a jig would be much safer. I'm thinking about getting the Draper http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/230v-Wet-D ... wwodGFgA6Q

    Double glazing trim

Distance is no object. Just make sure it's not flooded. I'll tie it in with a cider run  If you want to fire over a couple of pics I can work out approx sizes from brickwork.
