    Dust collection for Axminster AT330ST

Long story short: I was impatiently waiting for the new Axminster AT330ST planer to be restocked but I noticed that the specs say: Min Extraction Airflow Required: 1,000 m³/hr My plan is to build a small dust extraction system using my industrial vacuum cleaner by adding a DIY cyclone dust...

    My recent puzzles

Those are finished AES, I only apply beeswax and oil finish on my toys. Yes Lons, I too got them from Animal Puzzles for the Scroll Saw by Judy and Dave Peterson. I find the book excellent. Can´t wait to make more.

ATB vs TCG/ tooth count blades

I need to get 10"/250mm table saw blades and would love to get some help on choosing the best tooth shape/count ratio. Materials to cut would be hardwood, plywood and occasionally veneered particle boards. My idea if to get 3 blades. One for finish quality rip cuts - ATB 40t and two, 60 and 80...

Axminster CT330 planer + shelix head

I think it will take some time to buy the head separately. I find the price of the AT330 too high compared to let´s say Dewalt DW733 anyway. Is there anything special about?

    Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy...

When I experienced this the first time I got very confused. When I didn´t hold my workpiece down strong enough it got bouncing like crazy. Took me a while to realize I had my blade in with the teeth facing up. :D

    Choosing the right (pegas) blade

I got a package today. Super skip no. 0.2 and 1, some spiral blades and one pack of other blades to try out. I even got a tiny pack of Haribo gummy bears as a treat.

Best TS blade for hard wood and plywood

I need a new blade (up to 253mm) for my Makita LMT100 that will give me splinter free cuts in ripping and crosscutting hard woods, plywood and possibly in cutting veneered particle boards as well. Wurth is a supplier for the company I work for and I was wondering if they have something...

    Choosing the right (pegas) blade

To be honest, some of the puzzles I make stacked are pretty simple, that´s why I was surprised why it was happening. I have seen several "choosing the best blade" articles but I try to gain that knowledge by my experience rather than try what others say (not that they may be wrong). Probably...

    Choosing the right (pegas) blade

I have been using Proxon blades on my scroll saw because it´s what I can get locally. 99% of my work are puzzles of 20mm (3/4") thickness. No. 3 and 5 are my sizes to go for. I usually cut one at the time, but when I go for quantity, I do stacked cutting. I got a Pegas starter blade pack with...

    Enzo Mari animals puzzle

I got the pattern from Pinterest, but I don´t know how to feel about making/posting someone else´s design that I never bought. Or is it ok as long as I don´t make it to sell for profit?

    Axminster MB1933 thicknesser.

I plan on getting the Dewalt DW733 planer soon which I can get for about £490 delivered in my country (Slovakia) but Axminster has the MB1933 for £330-340 delivered right now. I´d be using it mostly on smaller parts for toy making, but I might plane something bigger on it sometimes. Is the...

DIY vibration free scroll saw stand

I have tried cutting while sitting but it wasn´t comfortable for me. The stand is designed to be used while standing. That way I feel I have much more control in my hands and I feel relaxed. Yep, I thing Excalibur and Axminster saws are like 99% the same. I choose 40x40x* because that was the...

DIY vibration free scroll saw stand

I guess you mean to use the top one with the one leg facing towards me? If so, that would not allow me to have drawers under the saw, which I want to make. I plan to use the side with two legs as the front. With the saw mounted, it would push me away from the stand so my toes would be some where...

DIY vibration free scroll saw stand

Thanks for suggestion AES. I gave it some thoughts and did a (trail and error) drawing in sketchup. First I thought I´d make the bottom triangular but as I was drawing it, I got a better idea for a rectangle shape. It would definitely give the stand a better shape and I could cover it with...

DIY vibration free scroll saw stand

I checked my saw for any loose screws or anything that would need fixing. I found nothing (except dirt). I cleaned everything and hopefully lubed everything I needed to. I then put the saw on concrete floor and ran it on different speeds. It would not move a tiny bit. I was shocked how stable it...

DIY vibration free scroll saw stand

I´m back after almost 2 weeks off due to illness. By diy wooden stand I have been using I mean small pallets screwed together :D. it is very heavy, but very unstable, that´s why I´m thinking about making a metal one - no screws, only welds. To be honest, I´ve never checked my saw for loose...
