    Worcestershire Wooden Workshop...

Could you have used a roller? A 4" brush sounds masochistic! Great thread though, the build looks great!

    Im Calling it "the ex-wife"

Keep an eye out on ITS.co.uk for their diamond plates. Excellent piece of kit that I would highly recommend. They regularly come up on sale for about £12 each. I bought a 300g, 600g and 1200g set for less than £40 delivered a few months ago!

    ALDI grinder / belt sander

For £30 you can't go too wrong. It's easy to stop the belt though. Alright for light jobs.

    Heating the workshop

I text one of the lads who has been a fire fighter for the last 10 years about this a while ago. His response was, "I wouldn't recommend using them (gas heater) to be honest because the naked heater bars and the sparker for the gas would be a sufficient enough ignition source for the wood...

    8x6 Shed advice

The sound don't be as bad when it's not empty. Now the echo are just reverberating around the space with nothing to absorb them. Acoustic panels will do but and old trick for those on a budget is egg cartons and rugs.

What did you do in your workshop today ?

My thanks and my apologies in that order gentlemen! ;) I was fitting some skirting boards in the house today and my mitre saw was really struggling with the bevelled cuts. So nipped into town and picked up a Freud Pro blade (€55) to fit to my crappy Aldi mitre saw (€99) and wow, the difference...

Cheap diamond stones at ITS again

They're still only £12 each now so I'd snap em up quick. They were back at £20 for a while after this thread was created so I dunno how often or regularly the go on sale!

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Spent some time practicing hand cut joinery this afternoon and knocked out a little spice rack from scraps lying around the shop. Pine and teak in this instance finished in Danish oil.

    Good alternatives to Tuffsaws?

The axi blade I bought for a second hand RP BS250 literally trasformed the saw from barely usable to resawing 4 inch thick teak flawlessly, would definitely recommend them. I will try tuffsaw the next time though.

Cheap diamond stones at ITS again

Have a look again and you'll see my post was from two days ago! Since then I've sharpened a handful of plane irons and as many chisels and I can honestly say they're great! I don't regret buying them for a minute and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. In fact, I'd be sick if I paid £150 for...
