It is certainly well built, I never felt the need to bolt it to the floor. Sadly the sheer heft of it makes it a bit tricky to move on!

thats interesting, I assumed some form of digital communication was taking place... I guess easiest solution is to buy a 12v charger that supports the same type of fast charging as the devices. I think Quick Charge and Power Delivery are the common ones.

For fast charging, the charger and the device talk to each other and agree the best voltage/current etc parameters. Your mains charger is probably doing this, and the device negotiates a fast charge setup. The 12v adapter you have, perhaps is just providing 5v and doesnt do any communication...

You probably have a 3/4" diameter thread ( 0.75" = 19.05mm) and the thread is a metric 18mm diameter. I would be concerned that the threads are only gripping very slightly and under load it could detach completely. You need to get hold of an adapter, or buy a better lathe. The parkside one is...
