What should I do with a WW2 12 cylinder magneto

I got this on ebay years ago as a mystery 12 cylinder magneto. I tracked it down to what I believe is a Junkers Jumo 210 engine, which had a pair of them. It was an inverted V12 engine with two spark plugs per cylinder, and therefore 2 x magnetos for redundancy. As far as I can tell, only 5 or...

For Sale Large wood lathe for sale

It is certainly well built, I never felt the need to bolt it to the floor. Sadly the sheer heft of it makes it a bit tricky to move on!

    Tablet/phone charging

thats interesting, I assumed some form of digital communication was taking place... I guess easiest solution is to buy a 12v charger that supports the same type of fast charging as the devices. I think Quick Charge and Power Delivery are the common ones.

    Tablet/phone charging

For fast charging, the charger and the device talk to each other and agree the best voltage/current etc parameters. Your mains charger is probably doing this, and the device negotiates a fast charge setup. The 12v adapter you have, perhaps is just providing 5v and doesnt do any communication...

Head Stock Adapter for Parkside Lathe

You probably have a 3/4" diameter thread ( 0.75" = 19.05mm) and the thread is a metric 18mm diameter. I would be concerned that the threads are only gripping very slightly and under load it could detach completely. You need to get hold of an adapter, or buy a better lathe. The parkside one is...

    paraffin Heater

Interesting that you quote red diesel prices, I have a diesel space heater which has a 10 litre tank. I found that red diesel is hard to buy in small volumes, and I could not find any suppliers that ended up cheaper than a fuel station unless I committed to buy several hundred litres, which...

    Wadkin RS tool rests

I have a lathe with 1 1/4" diameter tool post for which very few tool rests come up. I have found two solutions. One is to buy a piece of mild steel tube which is 1" internal diameter and 1 1/4" outside diameter, cut it lengthways with a hacksaw so it expands and contracts, and then use 1" tool...
