Only small pieces left so going to try my hand at toadstools/ Mushrooms soon but first will be a bowl from some Cedar that fell a couple of yrs ago and have been drying...

    New toys

I spent an hour in the High Wycombe branch last week and came home lighter in the wallet than when I went through the doors 🤣. Only wanted to have a look then decided i must have shiny new toys to play with 😂. That's the problem it's all to shiny!!!

Thank you stig 👍. The beads where done using the technique that I saw Mr Raffen demonstrating on his YouTube channel. Didn't realise how effective they could be and look!. 2 coats of friction polish was all I used on the vase.

Small bowl and bud vase for the last turning of 2022. It's been a steep learning curve and YouTube has taken a battering (even the wife knows who Richard Raffen and Glen Teagle are now 🤣) but as they say the best way to learn is to have a go. Happy new year to all

    Todays turning

Happy Sunday 🙂, So thought I'd show what I've turned this morning. I was going to upload to the general forum but as it's been made on a lathe thought I'd put it in a new thread as I would prefer to see others turned projects in one place rather than hunting through loads of stuff. Hope this is...

Cedar logs and what to do?

Hi all and hope you can advise on what to do. I've been given some Cedar logs by a friend. Limbs of the tree came down and the gardener cut these up for easyness. They have been laid in a field near to the tree for about 2 yes now. Some have a few end cracks and 1 has a split running through it...

Ok so not in the same class as most but my first go at a small log case. Apricot wood from a neighbour who had to dismember her tree 😞.

    Glueing pallet wood

Ok so glued the pallet wood together with some slats from an old garden seat and turned into a tealight holder. First time of doing this 👍. Not perfect by any means but being a complete beginner I very pleased. Steve

    Glueing pallet wood

Terry, Thanks you for that. I don't have a thicknesser but as it's for practice I might just run the belt sander over it 👍

    Glueing pallet wood

Morning all, So I have a question about glueing strips together to be able to make a larger blank. As I'm a complete beginner where turning wood is concerned I've sourced some new pallet wood strips, so no holes or nails left in. I want to cut and glue some strips together to be able to make...

    Ceiling fan

We have a ceiling fan, it's the manhattan purchased from Argos and has been really good. Remote works and if the remote ever goes wrong you can get the receiver and new remote unit from eBay. It is a heavy beast so I've need to put a brace on between the joist in the loft but no wobble and...
