    How did we do?

Completely agree. Sorry @clogs ! It's definitely a Slasher rather than a Bill Hook. It's a Cornelius Whitehouse, Hedgehog brand, Cannock made job. So should be decent quality. It was actually destined for a friend, as he asked me to look out for a Bill Hook, I couldn't find any of them so this...

    How did we do?

Was it a steal or did he see us coming?! We were enjoying a Steam Rally today and happened upon these to two planes on one of the stalls. My brother was keen, as the guy only wanted £10 each, but couldn't decide which one. So I suggested that we get the pair for £18, the seller agreed so we...

    Mystery tool.

This is a definite contender. You'd need something long and slender like these to thin out bunches of grapes for instance.

    Mystery tool.

I think they're too delicate for that. I was going give them a quick tickle up as they're not very sharp, though still cut well, but I couldn't ascertain the angle with my dodgy eyes. It looked to be only a bit more than 90 degrees. Maybe that gives a clue to their usage?

    Mystery tool.

Yep I had similar thoughts about something refined. Bonsai snipping I speculated, though that wouldn't quite make sense as they're Italian.

    Drum/Spindle Sander - Renovation

Here's the second question. How best to renovate or replace the drum on this; It's another tool that I inherited from my late father, another of his homemade jobs, based on a big old lazy industrial motor, (so no shortage of power). I'm not sure if it's a drum or spindle sander, hence the...

    Mystery tool.

Evening all So I've got two questions this evening! Here's the first. I picked these pair of what I thought were secateurs up from a car booster recently. I've just looked at them again and now wondering if they're actually some kind of scissors instead, maybe for some special application. Any...

Kity 613 Bandsaw wheels not in line?

I have a similar issue on my fairly recently aquired Kity 615. Not as bad though as it seems to work ok, no blade jumping off. That might just be because I'm using a 12mm blade. Not looked at it for a while but I wasn't happy with the arrangement when I first set it up. Since it cuts ok as it is...

    Jewellery box

Beautiful. Very elegant and feminine. Brilliant work. Just to echo the sentiments about mistakes - no-one else will see them. I speak from experience, being a perfectionist myself! It's much easier to say it though obviously.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

So as a keen gardener I'm eager to encourage Mason Bees into the garden, as they're great pollinators. I got given a load of nest tubes for my birthday but they were loose so I need to make a box or boxes for them. I'm short on time so decided to cheat and just use a section of hollow log. The...
