    "Ultimate" Inca Bandsaw Dust Collection

Interesting and useful. Anyone tried on the smaller version of Inca as that is what I have but it does not have dust extractor port at all.

Do diamond grit sharpening stones wear out?

Yes they do especially if you use them with increased pressure with hardened steel or even worse for flattening oilstones.

    Identifying sharpening stone

There is the way how to measure coarseness. You take a bar or blade surface/edge is pollished to known quality of it's surface (Grit) {also you will need few of them of the same quality/origin} and grind it on the stone you want to measure with the same lengths of stroke, pressure and count the...

    oilstone id

For collectors anything such as removing and reglueing label is not right. Where it is not at all right is when labels are being reglued on different stone from where the label came from. D_W can you show close ups of sides of your Deep Rock. It is unusual to have coarse stone of this grade.

Where are you in Herts? From the pictures I would say you have what you wanted but also I have learned that those pictures have to be accurate in the first place.

    Renovate natural sharpening stones?

I will try to answer your original questions. Can you flatten the slate and Dalmore Blue easily and on the budget? Yes How easily? Depends how deep is the dishing. I have done fair bit of both of those stones and use sanding belt glued on slab grit about 60. To take out This dishing takes me...

    Sundays Haul.

First I will answer about the stones. Beautiful example of CF which appears like to be made mid 20th century and also cut sideways (in 90 degrees). Now about some hones getting damaged by leaving them in different solvents and solutions. Issues which you have with it often the reaction between...

    Sundays Haul.

Reason why I wanted to see the side picture was that the CF looks cut differently from normal cut. From the picture I can not see more evidence as you describe that there is still plaster on it. The Coticule is beautiful and meaty not sure if the backer is just normal slate or BBW, Once you...

    Diamond stone going orange

Is not just cheap plates. I have the same issue with my Atoma plates. Was thinking how that is possible when the backing is aluminium and top cover nickel. Laping fine hone on them does not help. (Tried and failed.) So far I will leave it as it is.

    oil stones

I have few oilstones and use them every so often. Yes mostly they are slower but they are more fun. And yes I also have few synthetics and also Atoma plates.
