Trend Allen keys on offer on ebay

Well mine arrived although I have yet to try them. Just one issue - it says on the packaging not to use for final tightening as this could damage the mechanism ( presumably the ratchet, in a similar way to using a socket set ratchet for final tightening). So whilst the packaging also says how...

A new telephone and broadband scam?

But not readers of this forum, surely? You are quite correct though, else why would these scammers keep trying? They know they will catch out someone sooner or later. PS, my internet banking password is "password123". K

Hi, new here, very interested in woodwork/crafting :)

Now that sounds to me like an eminently sensible way to proceed, and it is what I would have loved to do myself ( but financial and other committments just always seemed to get in the way), so I struggled on by myself. I am retired now and my skills are limited to really basic things like garden...

Nice work, and some good design ideas for us (well, me anyway) lesser mortals. K

Hi, new here, very interested in woodwork/crafting :)

Just wondering - do you have a plan for generating an income during these 15 years? Also, I suspect many on the forum would agree that making a living in craft work is not easy since you would be competing with cheap, mass produced items. Not trying to put you off your ambition, more like trying...

    Got to be a joke?

I was after one of his items - a nice selection of used toilet paper in vintage pastel colours (plus brown!!!), but someone outbid me in the last 30 seconds. I really hate it when people do that. K

A new telephone and broadband scam?

Surely what you need t do here is to give the caller your bank account details and password so they can help you to continue having internet access. Also your credit card details would be most useful, after all they are only trying to help. People are so suspicious these days. K

    De-stressing

Well there is always:- On the bridge stood the vicar of Buckingham But all the remaining rhyming lines would be pineappled out so I won't bother typing them. K

union graduate bowl lathe user manual

Hah, That is the very reason I joined the forum. I have a Myford ML8 then bought a graduatd bowl lathe and wanted a manual. There is one on the web but I can't find the link. Send me a pm with your email address and I will send you a pdf of the manual. I think it is a very nice piece of kit. K...

FINGER JOINT JIG FOR SCHEPPACH TS250 SAWBENCH

With the table arrangement on my Scheppach I can't fit a zero clearance insert either. I think it is a big odd, unless Scheppach sell alternatve table segments. I suspect they wouldn't be cheap though. K

    I shouldn't laugh but.........

I think some people I have had dealings with must have had lessons on the subject of being rude and unpleasant. A genuine art form. K

Hi Woodmangler, Where in West Wales are you? K Edit - I remember now, Tregaron way. Not so far from me, around 20 miles

    I shouldn't laugh but.........

I am so lucky to live in the country and have plenty of space outside for parking etc. Yes, we have to drive every time we want to go anywhere but when we get back home it is so peaceful. K

I agree Mock, my skills extend to boxing in bathroom pipework and making garden planters. Still, gotta start somewhere. K

FINGER JOINT JIG FOR SCHEPPACH TS250 SAWBENCH

I have the same saw, mine has an aluminium table. The table does not have a removable blade insert, the blade 'slot' is part of one of the table sections. I can't see how a wobble saw or a dado head could be fitted. Apart from that I really like the saw. K

    Uses for an old lathe?

Getting the disc to run centrally on the motor shaft can be a bit tricky. If it is not dead-on then obviously it won't be much use. I tried it once - what a disaster!! Wobbled all over the place. At least the cheap lathes should run true, albeit perhaps not as powerful as you wanted. Could you...

I believe a couple of US presidents were keen woodworkers. Jimmy Carter possibly? Or may have been Bill Clinton? Worth checking out perhaps? K

    variable speed lathe conversion?

I have no doubt this is the correct procedure, but obviously more expensive. I use my inverter to control 4 separate machines, all of which have 1 HP motors. I have not set any parameters and I find the default values seem to work fine as they are, although I suppose if I bothered to digest the...
