    Electric vehicles

I've put this here because although its not immediately about EV's its about the cause of driving so far so often. I drive typically 18,000 miles a year. I have a salesman who often exceeds 25,000 and so EV's are a bit unrealistic for my business. BUT.... I have spent the past 2 weeks...

    Electric vehicles

I must say I am quite disturbed by the attitude of motorists who will not consider anything other than their own convenience, and also by the attitude of employers who will not consider any alternatives to their staff driving huge mileages to do their jobs. I don't get annoyed by many here as...

    Electric vehicles

Beech...good idea and I'd be interested to see your results. Aso just how much time you have to spend on your research. To be fair, at 230 mile range you're giving EVs a head start ! RogerS, Maybe but I can buy a Hyundai Kona Electric which will give me 230 or so miles today. I could...

    Electric vehicles

I have decided to check my frustration not just with Toy like EVs but you guys as well. To do this I am going to spend a week of odd minutes finding and loading every EV charging point app I can find on my phone and also loading 2 or 3 map apps to locate these things. Next week I will plan...

    Electric vehicles

The problem with this thread is that it ignores the needs of many of us. That is the 15,000 to 20,000 miles a year. Its alright for the virtue signalling low mileage driver to talk about the Leaf, Volkswagon e etc etc but these cars are merely LOCAL RUNAROUNDS with low overall ranges...

    Electric vehicles

What I want to know is why are electric vehicles so bloody expensive. Less parts, less complex motors, relatively simple software. Why so expensive and why do we just accept that. I have yet to buy an EV but already feel ripped off.

    Workshop Warm Ups and Workouts

Your all going to giggle like school girls at me I know but:_ 1) I do a first thing each day stretching out that I learned some 30+ yrs ago. It helps to keep me loose and somewhat supple. 2) I do 100 press-ups a day in three sets of 3x12 ( I know that's really 108 but who is counting) 3)...

    Electric vehicles

I am only now considering an EV. I am not and will not be a convert as I am ultimately only interested in the practical and pragmatic. What I do know now is:- 1) Air pollution has increased since the downturn in diesel sales of 2 yrs ago as the myriad small petrol engines used by most...

Replacement battery for a B&Q 12 volt cordless drill.

I've been looking via Google. What is the drill name and number please. Post a pic or two so we know what to look for. Its likely that B&Q used another makers battery specs to get the drill up and running so also look for the electrical data plate (plastic type stuck to the bottom/side of...

    Post-Brexit international tool shopping.

Does anyone know how Brexit will affect this? After Dec 31st this year the UK will be a Third Country in EU speak. As such you will be liable to Finnish/EU import duties on UK goods. The UK authorities will try to charge you VAT at 20% but when the item is exported to Finland the...

    TV licence requirements

About 4 yrs ago I completed a form from TLM in which I declared that I no longer watched BBC/ITV etc and only used non-live TV. Submitting this form gave me 2 yrs of non harassment from TLM. I had to redo this form after 2 yrs and expect that I will need to do my third one in a few months...

    RZ dust masks

I was curious because they seem to quote "Norton Laboratories" and use what I assumed was a US standard of F1/F2/F3. So you think its more marketing than real protection. I sent them an email asking about FP3 certification and what is F1 etc. I'll let you know if I get a reply.

    RZ dust masks

Has anyone used these and if so what did you think. They claim to capture all particles down to 0.1 microns so I wondered if they could be better than my current 3M mask.

    Am I being fair!

As a contrast to Just4fun I had 3 fitted wardrobes installed by a well known national company that were just awful as to quality, fitting inaccuracies, lack of components to have a second cut at it etc etc. After the first one was halfway through I stopped the work and called their manager...

A source for Ceramic disks for bandsaw guides

About 5 yrs ago I was considering upgrading my 352 with ceramic guides at no little expense. I called Record Power re my Startrite 352 and asked them for advice. Their advice was that they saw none to miniscule advantage of ceramic over the metal triangular guides which came with the saw and...

Best paint for airless sprayer onto MDF

Most of the important stuff has been covered by Wills 1963..well done Sir. I would add that MRMDF is not all the same. I use only Medite MR-MDF as I have found other brands to be a bit fluffy at times. I also use HD_MDF which is a heavy duty more dense version of MDF but is harder to...

    Battery refurb or clone replacement?

A bit late seeing this...sorry. I bought a replacement Floureon battery for my older Bosch drills. Works great and has changed from 1.5 amp hrs to 3 amp hrs. Would recommend. I had a battery sent to a North Wales battery cell replacement company which was reputable. All cells were changed...
