As others have said bramers I really like the tool cabinet, shows a lot of skills and techniques all in one project, nice design too. Alan

    Pace of Life

Is that from the car to the pie shop? or are we only counting people who walk more than fifteen feet at a time. I find it hard to believe judging by any shopping trip in our city most people seem virtually stationary to me and I don't go fast. Alan

    Cracked rebate plane

This tubing is less than one mm in diameter it's internal diameter is probably about a 1/4mm put a hole in the top of the bottle so the tube is a tight fit leave about 2 inches of tubing protruding. When you've finished applying the glue use a pin to stop the end of the tube. Using this method...

Repairing a guitar neck - any instrument makers out there?

Ahh now you would have to ask that :-) I used to get it from an individual supplier at model aircraft shows because it is the main constituant of model aeroplane fuel. You can't use the fuel for this purpose because it's been mixed with oil. I can only suggest you ask your "helpful" chemist...

Repairing a guitar neck - any instrument makers out there?

methanol will thin epoxy and clean it off. If using it to thin, use a few tiny drops at a time,as it will affect the integrity of the glue. If using heat to thin it's preferable to warm the two containers in warm water before mixing as after mixing trying to control warming is much more...

    Cracked rebate plane

Alan You need to get yourself off to a model shop (radio control plane type) where they stock real super glue, not the mickey mouse rubbish the DIY stores have. Trust me once you have used it you'll know what I mean. You can buy it in all viscosities (is that a word?) the thinnest is thinner...

    Triton router baseplate screws

Not only that, but the thread rate is not good from an engineering point of view, being so coarse, a finer thread would have been better. Alan

    Mafell ksp 55f

Oh well the deed is done my local supplier rang this afternoon and matched D&M's price and were so pleasant I couldn't say no :-) Funny how a general enquiry to see if they stocked them resulted in me buying one. I guess I don't know how to say NO ....to :tool:'S They timed it just right...

Thanks All Sorry to those who have previously mentioned they were pleased in other threads, I just couldn't seem to find what I wanted from the search on this occasion. I was tempted by the 40 with the roll up guide, my difficulty is getting my hands on any to look at. My local dealer will...

    Flushing central heating radiators.

It's not easy to "flush" a heating system as a DIY project. If you really mean flush in the sense of the word then the proper way to do it is with a pump and vortex container purpose built for the job. Connect the unit at the boiler flow and return (disconnect boiler to acheive this) assuming CH...

Thanks Scrit I must admit to a sneaking suspicion if anyone was going to reply it might be you :-) appreciated. I am not sure I know what to do still though. I don't need it for site work, although storage is always an issue. The 55 is a bigger machine for only a few quid more. I'll have to...

Router Table Top > Dakota from Rutlands

I am in the final stages of making a router table top and I have to say if I was doing it again I would buy a top, the agro getting the formica, then cutting and laminating the mdf is not worth it, certainly price wise and to be honest for an enthusiastic amateur as long as the Dakota is flat I...

    Dure Edge Bandsaw Blades

For the sake of some balance regarding Dragon blades I haven't received any "free" blades, I ordered six they were posted to me on trust, payment on receipt. So far of the two I have used they have been most satisfactory. Regarding the blade weld I have not had cause to inspect it because there...

Hi I see this is at a resonable price at the moment (depending on point of view I guess) I have not had the chance to handle one. Is there any disadvantage to this saw compared to the Festool or advantage for that matter. I have looked through previous postings and probably don't want to get...

VIP toilets, WOODWORK & other Sierra Leone films

Steve Blimey you've only been gone five minutes, back already? I take it the batteries lasted for the pics. Good to have you back sorry about the jippy tummy, but I had the same experience from four pints of real ale last night...goes with the territory, you play you pay :) cheers Alan

    Thicknessing Nylon

Hi Have you thought of using a suitable size of ground flat stock from someone like www.cromwell.co.uk under the materials and mtce section then click materials and all should become clear, you may be lucky and find your exact size or one that requires a couple of careful passes with a draw...

    Dewalt 712

The price is right, as a bit of a gloat I paid £250 for mine in B&Q last week when the extra discount was on, they also had the makitas with the double linear bearings but smaller blade. Just in case you find the thread where I query the vibration at start up, I can again confirm this is normal...

Kiddies chair and table - birthday present

Dlowry I think it looks very child friendly all those soft rounded curves and edges to everything, and stability. They can't fail to be pleased. I imagine hours of scribbling to be had on that desk...hopefully with a piece of paper between but...well I had two, and was one once, history repeats...
