    crown guard/ dust collection

Hi Wallace I need to make a new dust extraction cover for my saw as well. My current one is like Frankenstein's monster, but it does a good job of getting the dust. If you look at this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkZD42a2gtM This is Altendorf, who have got a pretty good idea of what...

    Workshop Storage Cabinet

Yes I made the same height for that purpose. Wanted the blocks on a shelf rather than drawer, as some of the bigger ones weigh quite a bit. Having to lift up the surface makes me keep it clear as well, deliberately, because if it's flat and level i'll put something on it. nathan

    Workshop Storage Cabinet

Being the messiest worker in the world, I need as much help as I can get to stay a bit tidier, so this is one of many storage units I have made in the workshop. I needed to store spindle tooling, mortice chisels, drill bits and router cutters. And I can store my 4 routers in the top. Any edges...

Running a Colchester lathe with 2HP motor

As you say spending £700+ on a metal working lathe when you prefer wood, doesn't seem to make sense, a wood lathe and a metal lathe is on my shopping list. Preferably a Wadkin RU or RS for wood. But at the moment my budget is about 19p. Metal working does sound good though, as you say especially...

Could I get into woodworking at age 38?

I'm 39 and I must admit I feel my age after lifting 3m x 2m sheets of mfc all day. But you can start carpentry at any age, as for a living I think it's the kind of thing you either take to it or not, I've seen plenty of people who are very keen but just haven't got it, if you know what I mean...

    Wadkin 12 BGP Buying advice

My cp32 only cost £1000, the build quality of the bgp is probably as good if not better. depending on which model it is will be the restriction on panel cutting size. have you looked here? :- http://www.wadkin.com/wadkin-library/view/207 nathan

    Wadkin 12 BGP Buying advice

I don't own a BGP but I do have a wadkin cp32 panel saw. I would have thought that once set up correctly, the bgp would be spot on. If so you'll be selling your track saw and won't look back, it'll be quicker and easier. If you have the time and inclination to sort this saw out I would say it is...
