    Pocket hole jigs

I have the Axminster one. It does the job nicely.

    What’s with this Scam?

They're not after people who'll ask questions - they want the gullible people who will see a bargain and not pause to think. Same reason why all the phishing scams are badly worded - they don't want even moderately smart people to respond.

"Handing" of doors, very basic question.

Very much this - avoid any doubt and you'll avoid that horrible realisation that you meant "my right, with outswingyness", but they read "the door's right, inswingy counterwiddershins".

    new workshop

Mine is (from inside to out) ply, Kingspan, thermalite blocks, timber cladding. Sound insulation is excellent - a metre from the doors you can barely hear the dust extractor.

    Mice and plastic pipes.

I don't k ow how much mice are like rabbits, but when we had house bunnies the only thing they wouldn't chew through was nylon braiding - TechFlex I think.

    Router table pocket problem

Are you trying to cut the full depth in one go?

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Just a little workshop upgrade; I noticed a couple of weeks ago that my dust extractor actually has a 200mm inlet, but came with a 150mm reducer stuck in it, so today I upgraded the run to the first Y to 200mm, and the first Y is now 200 to 2x150. Spot the difference - there's a noticeable...

    TIMBER!!!!!

I've used poplar for guitars, and for the legs of my bench, and for my CNC machine's stand. It's fairly soft.

A wee bit windy in England today

I've salvaged some bits. Sounds worth a go at least - thanks.

A wee bit windy in England today

I do, but it's just a Scotts pine.

A wee bit windy in England today

It is a bit blowy, yes. A bit of next door's tree landed in our garden. Well, a 4m long bit that's too heavy to lift. There's a bigger bit that looks like it'll drop tonight.

The ultimate diy dust collection bin???

Put a clear bag inside it?

    Pigments

That, I would suggest, is quite an understatement. I've only been there once, but it is lovely.

What are home alarms for, other than driving your neighbours up the wall?

My two dogs are big but total softies. They do both have good deep growls and barks though. I think that's a good combination.

    New music

A former work colleague once insisted on driving me to see a customer. He threatened to play "smooth jazz" for the entire two-hour journey. I wasn't raised to let people threaten me, so I said if he was driving I was going to do the music. This was the opener.

What are home alarms for, other than driving your neighbours up the wall?

I suppose my battle unicorn comment was rather over serious.

    Language, phonetics, pronunciation and etymology.

    All hail the honourable (h)aitch.

    Language, phonetics, pronunciation and etymology.

Makes it easier for the tiresome elements of the middle classes (which certainly isn't all of them) to belittle people who pronounce what should be a silent "h".

    New music

I've got a few tracks saved in Spotify - good stuff.
