The front is the 'shiny' side... the 'dull' side is the back or emulsion side. I doubt the OP's uncle would have any problems knowing which is which but I'd agree it does help to be organised - it's a time consuming task.

Thanks for sharing this information. I bought one of these new from Yandles when they had it on offer a few months back. Given mine little use at the moment but it's good to know where and what to look for should I have the same issue in the future... after the 3 year warranty ends 👍
