Which cordless system are you going with..if any?

Makita Cordless user here. Got a pretty extensive 18V collection including a twin 18V lawnmower. Recently picked up the 18V trim router along with a plunge base and Other than when I'm template routing my corded 1/2'' Erbauer one hasn't even been considered for use! How I ever managed without...

My issue is a lack of hardwood offcuts! Other than some sizeable planks of Ash and a couple of oak sawn boards I dont really have much in the way of offcuts. I mostly work with plywood

Has Anyone modified a Record Power Dust extractor to give secondary filtration?

It seems my issue most likely is the filters not sealing properly. Tomorrow I'll see about getting the bag filter tucked into the paper filter and see if that helps seal it better. thank you everyone @martin.pearson You would think so but the suction will deform that pretty heavy duty cage...

Has Anyone modified a Record Power Dust extractor to give secondary filtration?

Oh wow! thats quite a set up you've got there!! I like it! I didnt Realise Axminster made one thats a spitting image to the RP one! does your one need an additional brace on the cage to stop it sucking itself flat like mine did? I've got a cyclone attached to my Henry acting as my shop vac...

Has Anyone modified a Record Power Dust extractor to give secondary filtration?

Thanks for all your replies. I've got the paper filters with the cloth filters over the top of them. The paper cartridge filters are pretty loose though so perhaps I need to find a way to make them tighter and seal better to the housing? Also worth noting(if someone in the future googles this...

Has Anyone modified a Record Power Dust extractor to give secondary filtration?

I've got a DX5000 Dust extractor which is perfectly powerful enough for my single garage workshop however it has a habit of putting out plumes of dust when you start up the second motor! The air it expels gets pushed into the yellow lid and then promptly blown all over my workshop so I was...

Building the first of 3 built in wardrobes for the bedrooms in our house and first job was to make a freestanding drawer unit that goes in side the first one. Nothing fancy just Birch Ply that will have Ash veneered ply faces on the drawers and sliding doors and if I can manage it ash edge...

Siberian Larch - Garage door Help.

Thanks Richard. Thats a great concept but I really want a 1/3-2/3 side hinged set of doors that will very rarely be opened as I have a side access door I will be using.

Siberian Larch - Garage door Help.

Ahh apologies. The cladding is 20mm not 25mm. Still pretty chunky but its PAR not rough sawn. I'm not adverse to buying more wood if it means making the gates properly. Tools wise I've got most things except a surface planer. Good to know the woods good for the job though.

Siberian Larch - Garage door Help.

I've just finished a Shed build and despite buying the correct amount of Board on board cladding + 15% for wastage I have ended up with tons of it left. So I've been trying to work out the best thing to do with it and I'm thinking that it would be good to replace the old knackered up and over...

    2021 Secret Santa.

I'd love to get involved with this but my only concern is my lack of skills! I was in awe of some of the gifts that were made for people last year and I'd hate to have someone think 'is that it' when they opened my best efforts

Not just another table saw thread

Could you just unbolt the wings off a larger proper cabinet saw to make the top smaller? My Laguna Fusion 3 has 2 cast wings on it that can be unbolted that would make the top really very narrow

Alignment of blade on SIP 01930 table saw

Normally you'd be unbolting the table top from the cabinet that the blade is attached too and then you shift it with a rubber mallet till its inline then bolt it back down

Garage/Workshop was getting severely cramped with all the non Woodwork junk so I built myself a shed 4.5m(5m with overhangs) x 3m. 2.5m tall. Siberien Larch Board on Board cladding on the show faces and Steel Box Profile cladding on the unseen bits. GRP roof as I had a load left over from...

    The State Of Furniture

Another vote for Ikea being great. Walk in with a full understanding of what it is youre buying and you can't really knock it. £4 for a Coffee table!! okay then I'll buy 2 and put the spare one n the loft till I need it in 6 months time! How many would you need to break to cover the cost of...

Screwfix, what an utter pain in the proverbial

I've always shopped at Screwfix 'correctly' by pre ordering and on the occasions I will pop into them unexpectantly I will sit in the car and preorder then give it 5 mins and walk in and just collect. I always find the time of day is the most critical to the whole experience. Got in mon- sat...

    Fitted wardrobes

If its any help adding this to explain the big costs then here goes. I've got a fitted wardrobe aprox 3m long with 3 sliding doors planned. Its going to have a free standing 2 drawer unit, and a further 8 drawers in it (myself and the OH have very little clothing that requires hanging). The...

    Saw blade guide?

I'm fairly new to owning a decent Table saw and before I venture too far from 4x2 furniture into expensive hardwoods can someone answer what may be a fairly simple question. I understand the differences between negative rake and positive rake angles on saw blades as they are meant for different...
