leather sheath for small serrated saw, how to protect stitches from teeth

I found a load of leather scraps in my late father's attic and it seemed a good use for them Cardboard wouldn't be strong enough

leather sheath for small serrated saw, how to protect stitches from teeth

that would be a good option, I'm not sure it would be hardwearing enough against the teeth, but certainly very doable

leather sheath for small serrated saw, how to protect stitches from teeth

Not in any way a leatherworker, but I'm looking to make a simple leather sheath for a small toolbox saw, similar to the image below, I was planning to sandwich the blade between the leather, then glue and stich the seams, probably a rivet at the ends for extra strength. My concern is that the...

    Show your modded tool case/systainers

re. tranformer in tstak - seems like a lot of wasted space in the case, could I suggest a couple of battens and a lift out shelf, useful as a cable store

Sander - is there a hook/loop reverser pad?

not sure I'd use hot glue, but aside from that I'd agree with novacaine.

Volume of 1/2 tonne of coal.

surely for a hatch you don't want hinges, but a slide up door? if you hinge it the coal will always push it open. also i was wondering before when you said you had one and a half bags left over why you aren't just storing it as a stack of bags?

Volume of 1/2 tonne of coal.

I agree, all the answers here are based on (perfectly reasonable) assumptions, but first hand knowledge has to be the best route. I also think you need to oversize the bunker to allow for overlap of delivery (Terry's point)

    Vaccination

I had my 1st *** today (oxford astrozenica) , very quick process, less than ten minutes, was told I could go straight away, unless I was driving, in which case I should wait 15 mins. Seems a bit reckless really in hindsight, if I'd walked straight off and then gone into anaphylactic shock 10...

    Planning Application Objection

It always appears that planning permission is granted on the whims of individuals and committees. Is there general guidance published, so you can say, I met x, y and z criteria, so am am entitled to move forward with my plans? Moreover is there some form of ombudsman body to whom one can raise...

    Cordless Drills & Battery Conditioning

Yes, the 18650 cell is absolutely everywhere, from tools to laptops, to usb powerbanks, so they can be quite easy to salvage, could cost you next to nothing. Word of caution, the 18650 purely tells you the dimensions of the cell, nothing about capacity, voltage, chemistry, (the last two are...

    Sash cramps

that is pretty much what I expected, good value if they work properly, but not of a reliable quality, a 25% failure rate seems quite high to me. As with any budget tool I think the key factors are how much use are you going to give it, how much (inconvenience, time and money) will in cost you...

Protecting MDF top from wood glue

I did't strike me until you said it, but I'm not quite sure what is meant by cam clamps here, obviously there are a variety of clamps that use clamps, In this situation I imagine we are either talking about cams that sit in the dogholes, and when twisted apply horizontal pressure, alternatively...

    Sash cramps

Undeniably a good price for a 4 ft clamp, I've not heard great things about magnusson as a brand, but as ever it as a question of money vs money out. Be interested to read how you get on with them

Protecting MDF top from wood glue

I have a couple of thick plastic sacks that I put over the table when I'm gluing up. DPM would be a great choice, I'm just using what I have. I would still look to protect the surface, with wax or oil, but I'd think of that as a backup to the barrier

    Cordless Drills & Battery Conditioning

if it was me I'd look into recelling myself (replacing nicad inner for li-ion), doing a bit of research and making sure there was the correct battery management circuitary, I imagine the easiest way to charge them would be via usb. Check out instructables.com for help on that front.

    Lidl visit

I'm not surprised by that, when all is said and done it's a supermarket, returning a faulty grinder is the same as returning a bag of carrots that has gone mouldy. If I'm honest I'm not sure how different a responce you'd get at screwfix, b and q or anywhere else, it is just taking money and...

    Vaccination

I was under the impression the hold up was supply (or specifically quality control) of vaccines. That said, though not faultless, I think the speed of vaccination so far is pretty good, beating most, aside from israel

I agree with pete and james on the positioning of the mitre saw, much better to feed in from the door.
