    Making some 2mm laminate?

Mercedes use of aluminium sheet behind the real wood veneers in their cars, specifically to prevent the wood splitting and splintering in the event of an accident. They typically use a plywood body for the part, then a layer of aluminium sheet, typically about 0.5mm thick, then the veneer on...

    Wanted Help Needed Please

Can, or will, axi tell you what they are? I would be very surprised if they are not a widely available standard insert, and probably much cheaper from a specialist supplier.

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

Other idea would be to pop into your local Machine mart, they could probably order a replacement for you. I have had mixed experiences at different branches, some very good others not so much, but worth a try. From your picture of it off the machine it does look exactly the same as mine. Not...

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

If you go to the Clarke website you can download the manual for it, there are loads and don't know your model. Looked at a couple and they have a taper fit chuck. You might need to get a wedge type tool to remove it, but it almost certainly does come off, never come across one of any make where...

Recommend me a good flooring screw please

Same here. We bought our house as a repossession. It had been empty for at least 18 months and was in quite a state. So completely re wired and replumbed. Seemed sensible to section off the plumbing and heating, just makes things so much easier. I also have ball valves as drain points, each with...

    Vehicle batteries

Exactly what I do with my Cherokee, and caravan. Just make sure the panel is connected via a suitable regulator. I just have a roughly 18x6 inch panel which rests on the jeep dash, the caravan has a slightly bigger one permanently installed on the roof. I think go outdoors etc now sell ones with...

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

If I were going to do this repair I would retain the original depth stop. I would first drill out the hole in the plastic collar to 8mm. Then I would take a piece of say 13mm AF hexagonal bar and turn a sleeve nut with a 13mm AF head and an 8mm shaft through threaded to suit the end of the bar...

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

The problem I see is that if the end thread is M5 then the core diameter is 4.2. So your screw would probably have to be M3 or thereabouts, not very strong.

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

The main shaft of his depth stop is 10mm stepped down to M5 at the end. or maybe the larger diameter is 9mm from the image, which would be odd. Either way it using going to fall through the hex hole for the nut in the plastic, a regular M5 but being 8mm AF. So an M5 joiner screwed onto the end...

    Tungsten Carbide Drill bits

I never now buy anything other than solid carbide for things like milling tools, where everything is very rigidly held. Well worth the extra money. Only drawback in a regular drill bit is that, as cemannion says, they are very hard and so don't take kindly to any wobbling about and will snap. So...

Recommend me a good flooring screw please

I have a number of access points in my chipboard floors, all secured with the spax screws, as is all the flooring. Never had and problem getting them out when necessary. My workshop walls are all t&g flooring chipboard laid horizontally and staggered like bricks. Don't have to worry about exact...

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

Good idea. If you regularly use particular settings you could drill shallow holes in the bar to accept the end of the screw for easy adjustment. Or just attach the existing flag and use the scale. You could just as easily use round bar, that would slide better in the guide hole. Good idea to use...

    Ideas to fix pilar drill

Amazingly complicated solutions being offered here. Use one of these, you just need to know what size the thread on the end of the rod is. Commonly sold as cabinet joiners, in various metric sizes. Drill the plastic bracket to suit the OD of the fitting, cut the fitting down to a suitable...

Hello! Advice on Axminster ts250 drive pulley

And if it is a smooth v belt then replace with a notched type. If you are replacing the belt anyway then gripping the belt together as near to the pulley as you can with mole grips will often provide enough grip to undo the nut.
