    Putin is a loser

Well excuse me but when someone refers to something as alleged in that context it tends to indicate that they don't believe it. Glad to hear that's not the case. And Stalin and the development of the post revolution USSR very much has a bearing on what is going on now. We are looking at...

    Putin is a loser

And we don't need to have met the man to conclude that he was a nasty piece of work, his actions lead you inexorably to that conclusion.

    Putin is a loser

If the Russians have so comprehensively destroyed all Ukrainian forces then pray why do they only occupy such a small part of the country? Does that not seem strange to you, perhaps slightly at odds with their alleged total destruction of the Ukrainian army? Do you not suspect, even a teensy...

    Putin is a loser

Your knowledge of history really is straight from a Soviet era history book. The mass r**e of women in Berlin particularly is well documented, nothing alleged about it. Presumably all the women who reported being gang raped, and the doctors who treated them etc etc were all lying? Well...

    Putin is a loser

You do realise that in 1814 the Russians were fighting alongside Austria and Prussia? Did you not know that, or perhaps it suited your narrative to just ignore that bit? In 1945 the Soviets took Berlin, due in no small part to the support given them by ourselves and the Americans. Support...

    Putin is a loser

Dare say the most "popular" leaders on the planet are those of Russia, China and N Korea. Stands to reason, no one votes for anyone else do they? And it's undoubtedly Wensleydale :-)

    Putin is a loser

Best quote in the article is the "river of blood" that separated Lenin and Stalin. Both sides in the revolution got up to some pretty awful stuff, the whites supported by the West who got their hands very dirty too. However bad the Bolshevik's may have been as the eventual winners they were rank...

    Putin is a loser

Oh dear. No one is suggesting the West have a blameless record, but you could write a book on the deceit of the Soviet leadership ever since the revolution. They lied to us repeatedly throughout the war, and after. How did they establish their empire after the war for example. Do you think all...

    Putin is a loser

Thoughtless uncaring sociopath might fit Stalin rather well. He was happy enough to sacrifice a few million before the war to starvation. Not to mention the thousands murdered on his direct orders. And some choice comments. "There are no Soviet POW, only traitors". Why he had thousands shot...

    Putin is a loser

Putin was KGB, as such he will have had far better information than the average Russian, and been far better placed to know about world affairs. Nuclear weapons are a last resort, not for when you don't get your way and are having a hissy fit, but for when your country is under serious threat...

    Putin is a loser

Who has ever suggested a win by Ukraine involving troops in red square, what an odd thing to say. I dare say Ukraine would be quite happy to just see the Russians leave.

    Putin is a loser

Meanwhile still waiting for some explanation why evil is an unfair judgement of Mr Putin.

    Putin is a loser

And if you think characterising Putin as evil is unfair then please explain why. How would you characterise him?

    Putin is a loser

I am fully aware of a lot of reasons that have been put forward. The threat to Russia posed by NATO expansion. Ukraine taken over by Nazis. That it was a pre emptive strike because Ukraine was about to invade Russia etc etc. Putin may sell these ideas to his people may even believe it...

    Putin is a loser

Putin is evil. That seems a reasonable conclusion given all he has been up to over the years. Killing his opponents, either by sending teams out to eliminate them, Salisbury etc, or by virtue of people becoming strangely accident prone once they have crossed him. If you feel otherwise perhaps...

Help reducing contrast on dark grain in oak worktops (pics in thread)

You could try regular brown french polish. It won't affect the colour of the dark areas much, but will darken the rest. You can control how much by how many coats you apply. You could also use a lighter base polish and colour it with a tint to achieve whatever colour you want.

    Putin is a loser

I have always thought that the war in Ukraine was a mistake that would ultimately be the end of Putin. If he wants to keep throwing men into the grinder then yes he can do that, but at what cost? He would have to drop his "special military operation" nonsense and call it what it is, and...

    Window Board Secret Fixing

Interestingly I found that skirting boards held on with solvent free no more nails can actually be peeled off as it were using a thin pallete type knife, and leave nothing behind but a slight discolouration of the plaster. Never had one come free on its own, but relatively easy to remove if...

    Window Board Secret Fixing

All those in my extension, similar construction and MDF boards, were done using the solvent version of Screwfix own no more nails. Solid as a rock. Any exposed block work can be sealed first with PVA. Method like Ollie's if they are solid wood in case they warp. I only have one original window...

    Climate change policy

We can play games with the figures but let's face it if I buy a product made in country X, then I can't really claim to have no responsibility for the pollution created by it's manufacture. How far you take that is a matter for debate, but the basic idea seems pretty straightforward. You...
