    Box Joints

I use an upcut spiral bit in my router table when I make finger joints. I should point out though that if you are making them in ply you will get a lot of tear out unless you install sacrificial boards front and back. In this case I would have thought the table saw jig is the one to use. JMHO...

    Built in wardrobes

That is a lovely job Karl. I am the opposite of the others and like the break front design, I think it makes them look more classy. I do like the robes to fit up to the ceiling with a nice cornice but as you stated with a run out it is far better if there is a shadow gap. I am curious as to why...

    Routing letters

Routing out letters does take a bit of practice. I have done a few in the past which turned out acceptable. I use a 1/4" plunge router but a smaller palm router would be easier to control. My method is to print out the letters to scale and glue them to the wood. Most important part is to score...

    Fit for a princess

I got the head and foot board completed today. Then made a start on one of the sides. I couldn't get the complete side out of one sheet so had to add a section hence the clamps. Will get the other side cut out tomorrow using this one as a template.

    Fit for a princess

Yes it makes a change from the norm Keith. As for the wheels 'With great difficulty' Seriously though They were made using the router with a compass jig. The centres are made out of 6mm MRMDF and the 'slots' were routed out with a template. The rims were also made the same way using 18mm MDF and...

    Fit for a princess

I made a start on this bed yesterday. This time is is a child's bed with a carriage design. The wheels took some making! The frame was much easier being a basic design. Should get a start on the sides tomorrow. :D

    More boxes

I have been building a couple of cabinets last week. One is a tall unit for files and the other is a small wardrobe to fit over some stairs in a box room. Again these are made in MDF and painted with Morrells 2K. There is a door to go on the tall unit and a rail to fit into the small robe.

    meter cupboard

Thanks Mike, yes they did line up perfectly on this one. I used Dr Bob's method on this and made a template of the stairs first. The slides I used are the heavy duty Accuride runners from Hafele, they are not cheap but will take up to if I remember correctly around 120kg. For this job I made...
