    BLUM hinge question

Any reason for using 12mm ? Personally I would use 18mm with three hinges. I made a bathroom cabinet which was 800 x 400 and used 18mm MDF with a bevelled mirror bonded on and only used two hinges on that. HTH.

    Built in drawers

Got started on the drawer fronts today using Doctor Bob,s tried and trusted method. I got this little lot done in the time it took me to drink my coffee. :D I cut the drawer front panels out of 6mm Then all hands to the pump to assemble them all. Which I did and put aside to dry while I...

    Built in drawers

The top one is 300mm and that is the smallest I can get in soft close. Their standard runners (no soft close) go down to 250mm. These are the ones I am using: http://www.bullerltd.co.uk/section/370/ ... lides-45mm

Question about those Dakota vacuum pumps.

No, it seems to do the job well enough. I find that larger items take a bit longer to vacuum but assume that is due to the large bag. Scuba tanks! now that brings back memories did that for around 20 years. :D

    Built in drawers

On Friday I made a start on a set of built in drawers for an attic room. Again these are all in MRMDF and will be painted. Spent most of Friday cutting out the pieces, rebating and cutting biscuit slots. I also got all of the drawer boxes cut out and slots cut for the bases. Next I made the...

Question about those Dakota vacuum pumps.

I bought one a number of years ago and it is still working fine. I don't use it very often but have used it about four times in the past. Is it the complete kit with the bags? The pump does have to be left running though as the bags seem to weep a little. HTH.

Stay well back, not for the nervous.

Think I would have been in the next county with a telephoto lens. Quite surprised how the car next to it survived!

    polishing and buffing machine(s)

I use one of the domed brushes Terry mentioned in a drill to polish wax and it is great and saves a lot of time. For paint, lacquer etc i use a machine polisher designed for polishing car bodywork. HTH.

Making a semi circle cabinet,GRANITE FITTED

That has turned out really nice Bob. I am surprised there is no breakout from the notcher on the back side? Do you use a sacrificial piece behind it? what did you use for the panel, 6mm MDF? Great WIP's thanks. :D

Making a semi circle cabinet,GRANITE FITTED

Looking good Bob. I have to ask a question though, how do you make the face frame beading? Obviously you can't place the curved section in the Morso notcher and it would be difficult to do it on the router table and get an accurate cut with the 45 degree cutter? I assume the actual bead is cut...

    tattoo prejudice

I do agree to that Richard. I too have nothing against tattoos if they are hidden from sight or discreet but not blatantly covered in them or on the face/neck. My father had tattoos on his arms being an ex fisherman but always said he regretted them.

    Mates lost on bikes

A guy I used to work with used to race those Bob. He won a lot of trophies for his races and even a £25,000 Aprillia which he has on show in his dinning room never started. He gave up racing as he couldn't get enough sponsorship to get into the big bikes.

    tattoo prejudice

I did see a guy with a tattoo on his throat consisting of a 'dotted line with cut here' along with some other facial tattoos! maybe this may be one for Jacob to consider?
