    Curvy plinth

Well it looks half decent and there was about 1 1/2" spring back which isn't too bad as it will be flexed into place and that should hold it in place. :D

    Curvy plinth

Not all of my clamps just all the larger ones. Haven't got a upvc supplier close to hand here.

    Curvy plinth

Started a small job today, a curved plinth for a shower tray. It makes a change to get something out of the ordinary as I have just been boxing pipes in over the past few days. :D It is constructed in MRMDF and will be painted white to match the shower tray. :D

    Reconditioning a Dewalt DW1151

I am not sure if it would be economical to refurbish the machine but you can judge for yourself by having a look at this site: http://www.mtmc.co.uk/Spare-Parts/Elu-S ... 70374.aspx

    Nutters

I think you are lucky Bob, if he had started and spread all of those diseases around your shop you wouldn't have had any staff at all.

    Tennon Jig

Yes, on the underside of the jig there is an edge that runs the length of the jig and keeps the timber square to the jig. This then also doubles as a spelch block as does the one at the front which butts up against the end of the timber. HTH.

Aurora MAY be visible tonight from N England and northwards

A few years ago when I used to scuba dive we were in Scotland just over the boarder from Berwick on tweed when I saw the northern lights. Two of us were on shore cover around 9pm while the other divers were underwater. We laid back on the rocks and watched in awe the most wonderful coloured...

    Hopping mad

At our council tip I took some ceramic tiles and they refused them stating I had to take them to another site around the corner. When I got there they wanted to charge us £9 to tip them! We left with the tiles still on board and disposed of them in another way. They seem to be...

    Garage doors and hardware

How about AWO? last set of garage doors I made were hung on the large stainless bearing hinges and they worked fine. Those doors were about 2m square.

    Tennon Jig

For cutting tennons on long pieces I use this home made jig. it is a simple jig to make out of scrap and as long as the stops are set square to the base of the jig it works fine. I made this one adjustable for differing length tennons but you could just set the length by screwing the cross...

    Summer house

Hi Pete. Yes according to the building and planning man it is 4m max height and only 1 mtr from boundry. The summer house is 3.2 mtrs high and is now 1.5 mtrs from the boundry. It is also only 7 sq mtrs in size. I did quizz the man on this and he was sure about it and I also got his name just in...

    Summer house

I returned to the job today to get the door trims fitted to make sure it was watertight. I have had to order the handles as no one in town had any stainless steel ones in stock. My own fault I should have ordered them earlier. I will get them fitted next week. :D

    Summer house

Thanks Robo. Well I am almost there and just need to add the door trims and handles. Glad to say the customer is very happy with it and even the electrician was impressed. :D Will be returning tomorrow to finish off the snagging and receive a cheque. :D

    problems with metrication

Oh, great, I am glad it is not only me that struggles with metrication. I was taught and brought up with imperial and use this mostly as I also find it easier to visualise. I do however revert to metric for small measurements as I find this more accurate. Strangely enough when I took up scuba...

    Summer house

Well after all the hiccups of the past week we got a good day on the job today. As you can see we have moved the structure and built a plinth around the front. I have left enough room to remove the lower sections of ship lap so they can be replaced in the future. We got all of the cladding...

    Summer house

No progress to report today due to having problems with the neighbour! First thing this morning he calls me over to state that it is too high and too close to his boundary! I did state it was under the regulation height but was a little close to his fence at half a mtr. (Next doors...
