Mac Timbers back from the ashes for first open day 11th June 2023

Great to hear they're on the way back after that devastating fire. Well done and best of luck to them.

    NVR rocker switch bargain

Just to add a quick follow-up and to answer a couple of comments already made: * The day I added the thread I bought one out of curiosity and it arrived the next day so no problems with Axminster fulfilling the order. Mine was sent via recorded delivery which the postie found amusing given the...

OK...so where is the scam ?

What was their feedback rating? How long have they been a member? Have they bought anything recently? It might involve anything from them obtaining stolen bank details to asking you to deal outside of ebay which might lead to you receiving a fake message saying you've received the sale funds...

Oil and rags catching fire you tube video

Has anyone else watched that video again after seeing AvE's videos on the subject and thought differently on what they saw the first time?

    Dust Extraction

The below isn't mine but it's pretty close to what I had before I became workshop-less a few years ago:

    Dust Extraction

I've used a couple of Numatic Henry's dedicated to a particular tool, they work great and can be had second hand for not a lot of money. Using a dust cyclone too is a real benefit to save on changing bags and cleaning filters. RE router table extraction, I also tried two points of dust...

    Woodwork in the EVENING

I have done but mainly tasks that didn't involve a machine or power tool. It's a good opportunity to get parts assembled that need some gluing & clamping time for example.

    Bobbin Sander replacement sleeves

Axminster, Amazon, Rutlands, Ebay, D&M Tools, FFX etc. should carry them under at least one brand name.

    Salvaged Wood Haul

That's a nice haul, hope you've somewhere dry to stash it all. I too found it a bit intimidating asking to take stuff that had been skipped to begin with but after doing it a few times the feeling soon dissipates. Some might give you odd looks if they see you going through what they perceive to...

    Scam warning...

I've spent many evenings watching those types of videos, very satisfying to see scammers panic when they realise what's happening to them.

Clean cutting plywood - that's easy isn't it?

Very shallow backwards scoring cut, then make the full cut in the correct direction.

    Lumberjack Filter cartridge

Seems like the ones that are reasonably priced are out of stock, this is one that is supposedly in stock for a similar machine but it's an eye-watering £25 with delivery: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extractor-Accessory-Cartridge-Collector-Accessories/dp/B088P2GK36

Why do so many woodworking youtubers use Blues/Bluegrass background music

"Ultimate" is the one I will straight up ignore without any hesitation. Not sure why people use that word as there's always someone else who can do better, just has a narcissist feeling to it. Music in a woodworking video I've never really got on with especially if it is used for a good...
