Turned out the machine was easy enough to handle without dismantling so all safely tucked away in it's new home now and getting prepared for action ! Will post pics of the set-up soon. Cheers

Thanks for the tips, I agree that touching the cast iron tops is not advisable but it's either that or leaving the machine altogether. So is it a lesser of two evils or a one way trip to unending frustration :?
