    Woodriver 5 1/2 a personal view.

I recently purchased two Quangsheng blades, one was significantly concave in its length the other convex, when I put them in my Lie Nielsen 5 1/2 the adjustment in and out was affected, lurching backwards and forwards, terrible and not precise, they were returned.

John Revell and his cup !!!!!!!!!!!

I don`t have Sky and the fact they are still showing this is why I don`t have it, made in the early 2000`s I think, best bits are when he visits another maker or tool merchant. Chris Evans isn`t his mate, Evans tried (not sure he was succesfull) to sue him and some of his colleagues.

Pair of table leg frames with various wood laminations, made for Alardus Van Den Bosch (http://www.alardus.co.uk). He mounts his intarsia table tops to the frames. They should be on display at this years Celebration Of Design & Craftsmanship at Cheltenham.

Thanks Custard, I didn`t know they existed either! I need to educate myself about this system, I just checked the Seneco website the shim plates are out of stock.

    Just bought a Domino...

I`m thinking of buying the large Domino, thanks for the heads up about the adaptor plate, I didn`t know that existed. Can one of you confirm that a domino joint in an external application is as strong as a traditional mortice & tenon.

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Cagenuts, the anticipation of a Veritas or Lie Nielsen parcel is very appealing. Jacob, I may also buy the new Veritas apron, just like their tools it's very innovative! Hefty price tag as usual.

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Yes Jacob you are probably right, but the lure of a new veritas plane is just too much!

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Thanks Cagenuts, that info is very helpful, I`m waiting for a UK supplier to stock it, I dread to think what it would cost to import here. Do you have suppliers in your neck of the woods or is importing your only option?

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Thanks Derek I agree, sorry if I have caused offense. Is there any chance of anyone providing an answer to my question?

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Derek, to be clear my original post stated I had already shot some thick timber, I do have a good knowledge of shooting and Cabinet Making in general, I have no wish to continue an argument with you, I do find it odd that you choose to leave out that I also said your reviews are appreciated and...

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Thanks Mick, I don't wish to be rude, but I've already looked on the Veritas site, the Axminster site and a couple of other reviews, no joy I'm afraid.

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Hello Derek, I don't wish to be rude, but I don't want or need advice on the subject of shooting, I could explain in more detail what I did in shooting for my coffee table, but I was hoping just to get a straight answer. Just to repeat, I am not being rude, your reviews are much appreciated.

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

I'm in the middle of making a coffee table which, due to its design, required me to shoot end grain of 30mm (about 1 1/8). I used my veritas low angle jack plane which performed very well, I'm thinking of buying the shooting plane but won't if it's capacity is less than my jack plane.

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Cagenuts, that would be really helpful. How did you get the plane so soon, I`m still waiting for Uk dealers to stock it.

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Hello Derek, unless I missed it, would you tell me the maximum thickness (height) that the Veritas can plane when it is in the Stanley shooting board, how much of the blade is usable?

Have a look at this Jacob!

Thanks Graham, your videos already look good to me and I think you are brave doing it, never catch me doing that. I would like to make furniture and nothing else, but I haven`t got the customer base for that, kitchens are still my bread and butter work, not complaining it pays the bills.
