Respirator - Trend Airshield Pro or something else

I don't think anyone would disagree with the ideal of extracting the dust at source, but "industrial" solutions can't easily be applied to many small or home workshops. Getting back to the OP's question has anyone any particular experience or recommendations between the affordable personal...

Respirator - Trend Airshield Pro or something else

The other similar priced respirator is the JSP Powercap, newly being re-badged and sold by Axminster as their APF10 Evolution http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ap ... tor-101809. Replacement filters seem just as expensive and both claim 8hrs on a full charge.

    Tor Browser

Most fibre router supplied now are IPv6 compliant and many have been for some time. My point exactly.

I can't be bothered to wade through the whole issue, but just have a quick Google and you'll see it's not as simple as you'd like to believe. Easily found were; http://superuser.com/questions/54844/ca ... 4863#54863 and http://superuser.com/questions/243669/h ... using-ipv6 "On my Macs, each...

Built in modem. People still use these. There's no simple right/wrong answers. Suggesting anything different is wrong itself.

    Web tracking conundrum

Be scared/amazed. They can, and do, track your data all the way through to you actually buying a Fiat 500.

    Web tracking conundrum

Adobe are one of the biggest players in using 'Big Data' as it's colloquially called. The digital imaging business which many people have heard of is only a small part of their overall business. I've spent a couple of weeks working at their big digital marketing seminars and when you hear what...

    Tor Browser

Not completely. You're assuming connection through a router and that isn't necessarily the case. As I said "As ever with IT there's rarely a simple answer"

    Tor Browser

The wikipedia reference I quoted has all the important 'facts', but few people will bother to read it properly. As ever with IT there's rarely a simple answer to technical questions like 'how do I avoid tracking' Yes, you can use obscure browsers like Tor, but people need to be aware that it's...

    Tor Browser

Most motherboards have the network adaptor built in and the MAC number is unique and is 'seen' on the internet. From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address "Spying According to Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency has a system that tracks the movements of everyone in a city by...

    Web tracking conundrum

As previous respondents have said it is possible to reduce the amount you're tracked, but it takes a fair degree of effort and inconvenience. Maybe look at it from a different angle; Whatever happens sites like Amazon are going to include 'recommendations' for you, if you don't allow those...

Either phone them or send them an email with your requirements for a quote. They seemed pretty helpful when I visited them.

    Just Starting out. Table saw?

A hand held circular saw that can fit onto an aluminium track for guidance. eg https://www.festool.co.uk/Products/Page ... id=561583#] Good ones don't need the track clamping as the track has a non-slip base. They also have a splinter guard that the user cuts with the saw on first use, so can...

    Just Starting out. Table saw?

Axminster often have ex-demo/refurbs of their small table saws (TS200&250) on their eBay outlet. They can easily fit on a wheeled base and be moved around. The additional sliding table is very useful and elevates it above the smaller site saws. You'll find lots of threads here on fettling them...

Has anyone bought plans from FINE Woodworking Magazine?

It's all easy enough. They only use a finite number of measurements, so make a conversion and use it widely. Try just writing down a fixed set of preferred conversions for the repeated values eg 1" 26mm, 1/2" 13mm, 3/16" 5mm etc I never used measurements of fractions of a mm, it's just not...

Has anyone bought plans from FINE Woodworking Magazine?

I take it you mean FINE woodworking, not good working ? Big difference there. If so, yes, I took advantage of a free trial and got their plans for a bedside cabinet. Yes, all dimensions are in imperial, but conversion is pretty straight forward. You just need to remember to check for rounding...

    Cheaper Steb Centres Now?

A big thanks to Chipmunk for drawing attention to these ones from Chronos. I bought one, at just over a tenner delivered there's not much to loose, but wow, these really do the business. I can't see myself ever going back to using conventional drive centres.

Ebay find - mysterious table saw-

Which is why I suggested reading about their safe use before trying to use one. You might have spent a life around machinery without incident, but there are plenty of horror stories about using woodworking machinery, even from 'professionals'. Amateurs without any training and no experienced...

    More decorations

Nice work Derek. The candlesticks look particularly good. What does puzzles me is how birdhouses became 'festive' fare for woodturners ? Dale Nish's book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Woodturning-Chr ... 1565237269) on festive turning seems to only contain birdhouse variations.
