Probably less than 20 kilobytes..text takes up very little data or bandwidth..an image of 200kb ( perfectly viewable with lots of detail ) uses 10 times more.You seem to have missed ( or don't care about ) my earlier point.Some people ( I'm not one of them ) do not have ISP deals with unlimited...

Easy enough to run a script on the site server ( there are many free open source ones, and which are secure and regularly updated to stay secure and be compatable with site software systems, fora in particular , already plugged in to most hosting systems ) which would take care of shrinking...
