    Oak kitchen unit

I'm certainly not thin skinned and prefer people to comment good or bad on work and discuss stuff. I was genuinely interested to see what you would post as furniture with soul but respect your decision not to justify it. Would it have been krenov or malloof esque or maybe rustic and honest or...

    Oak kitchen unit

Hi robin the unit gets thinner as it get towards the glass door it's about 400mm deep at the far end reducing to about a 120mm pocket to allow the door to slide into the back. The wall has a step in it so the middle part is about 250mm deep. These act as the handles or way of opening the doors...

    Oak kitchen unit

Hi John yes the ceiling runs out about 20mm. The floor is pretty level about 3mm out in 5 metres. The doors were made from 18mm mdf . Solid oak lippings were applied to the edges a thicker one for the handle detail and then veneered so doors probably end up at about 19 mm thickness Cheers Jon

    The Veritas Shooting Plane

Having used the veritas plane at cressing I was very impressed. I've had a LN 51 for a while now and it gets used a lot in my busy shop and I find it great to have a dedicated shooter to hand and easily copes with 30mm plus thick stock if required. To say whether its worth it is hard and...

I've just bought the dewalt albeit just the fixed base version this week and first impressions are that it is solid and a decent tool cost was around £150 . I didn't go for the kit as I have numerous plunge routers and wanted a dedicated trimmer. I had a T4 and it blew up got a replacement that...

Does anyone know what machine this is?

Does it say wadkin on it as it looks like a Sedgwick machine? Wadkin did a light duty version called the tradesman range so could be one of them.It doesnt look like any of there desirable heavy duty morticers like the dm. Price 250 to 400 I would think. Cheers Jon

    Dog Holes?

Its pretty sturdy to be honest and does wobble very slightly in use. It was intended as more of an assembly bench but its possible to handplane on it the biggest advantage to me is being able to move it about and change the height easily. Theres a thread here showing how it was made...

    Dog Holes?

I have based some of my benches on the festool mft tables . The top is a torsion box with 20mm holes at 96mm centres. This one is seen attached to a hospital bed to give height adjustability. Holes cut with a router and guide bush. Cheers Jon

    Solid timber, Veneer match

How thick do you need the lipping bob? We often glue 3 or 4 sheets of the veneer together to ger a 2-3mm thick lippping which is a perfect match for the veneer. cheers jon
