    Kitchen drawers

The blums are nice and work well the cheaper runners tend not to have a rear tilt adjustment which can be handy when fitting. I have just started using a runner from grass called a dynapro which are excellent with strong diecast fixing clips and adjustment all around including side to side...

    1010 or 1400...sliding or what?

I find the 1010 ideal for a bench router and is usually the first one i pick up. Whislt festool routers are very nice i dont personally think they are worth the extra money compared to a dewalt 621 bosch makita etc. The fence on the 1010 works ok but the best thing about them are that you can...

    Sliding Gate Hardware

Hi i've got a job coming up for an oak gate which needs to slide. Does anyone have any reccomendations for hardware as i have never made one before. The Gate will be approx 4m long X 1.8m high and doesn't need to be electric as it is just to divide some courtyards in a barn conversion. cheers...

    Kitchen drawers

As Jason says these are on Blum Blumotion Runners. These are the drawers in context to the kitchen with a face frame that covers all the carcases like what Jason prefers. These are some drawers with a separate Face frames for each carcase It depends on the design to which one i do but...

    Kitchen drawers

It is easier on a drawer pack carcase to make the carcase flush with the inside edge of the face frame and allow the faceframe to overhang the carcase. You just need to pack the Gap out when the carcases are bolted/screwed together. Doing it this way you arent mucking around with spacers and can...

    Planer Knife setting Jigs

I recently bought a new planer an Italian Griggio with a 430mm width of cut and 2100mm long tables. The problem with it is there are no jacking screws for setting the blades so to stop setting the blades becoming a nightmare i decided some setting jigs may be a good idea. Matty very generously...

    The Twilight Zone

Reading between the lines a bit im pretty sure the mod resignations are mainly down to lack of support for the mod team from the owners of the site. On the whole i think the mods do a pretty thankless job they are dammed if they do and dammed if they dont. The only one ive really had contact...

Jointing a very long edge? Best method

I use a few different methods either straight of the jointer for normal work. Sometimes i just plonk the plank on the sliding table and cut it on the saw with a fine blade or for something such as a table top I will either saw or joint straight and then create a slightly hollow joint with a...

    Ash TV table - FINISHED

Looking good was just wondering whether you have accounted for seasonal movement in the timber when assembling the carcase as you have a solid timber base which will move across the grain attached to a frame and panel end that wont. A change in humidity or drynes of the timber could result in...

book on how to make windows?

Cant really reccomend a book but one of the best ways to learn how to make one is to get an old one that is being skipped and take it too bits to see how its made. upvc manufacturers usually have loads in there skips. cheers jon
