    imp bandsaw

I think you will find that is £35 well spent! You could have spent 3 times that on a far eastern cheapo bandsaw that is not fit for purpose, this Coronet saw will last for a very long time!

    imp bandsaw

Here is a copy of some IMP info, The machine was still being sold in 1983 and the price then was £345 inc 15% VAT!

    imp bandsaw

I enjoyed that video, that bloke has a nice way of chatting and describing things. I have an original sales leaflet in my workshop for the imp, it is a well made machine far superior to the B&D and Burgess offerings. I have a Coronet Major woodworking machine and the table saw fence is...

BBC Model B was released in 1981 and sold over 1.5 million to be used in conjunction with the BBC computer programme, at the time there was a massive waiting list and I well remember standing in a long queue to get mine when they arrived, they were promoted for school use too. :)

    Interesting tools

I similar lighter tool is used on cycle repair and for adjusting the 'oilite' bearing on Coronet lathes where they are called C spanners. :)

A good online shop should make it utterly simple for customers to buy items quickly, if a search does not come up with results quickly then a lot of people will just go elsewhere. Many of us don't want to spend ages learning the precise way to use a search engine in the most effective way with...

" The Family " by toesy

Have to agree the work is excellent, I would be more than happy to cut the main lettering out neatly and give up on the small text!

Shhhhhh - dont tell everyone but

Understood, however the only disadvantage with that is that if a member is looking to buy a machine they have until now been able to post a link to that machine (usually on ebay) and asked for the other members opinion of that machine, that is now not allowable which is a shame really because I...

Shhhhhh - dont tell everyone but

Thanks for the clarification, I honestly never realised that one could not post links, I have done so perhaps only a couple of times since I joined 5yrs ago and in both cases it was for Fretsaws. In fairness to other members here (scroll saw section) I have only ever seen sensible items posted...

    Marquetry with a scroll saw?

It's a good few years since I did any Marquetry but I always used a scalpel knife, I have read that it can be done with a fretsaw but you would surely need to use the very fine piercing blades. I imagine it might be quite difficult with very small parts! :)

Shhhhhh - dont tell everyone but

Now I am confused? Just for clarification are you saying that we are not allowed a link to a saw (or other item) for sale for the benefit of other members? If that is the case IMHO that would be a shame because I for one have bought things that others have posted links to here. :)

    ...............

I have heard of freecycle, how does it work, (I looked at the web site but you have to be a member) do people have to trade something with someone else or does one pay or what?

    Scroll Saw Stand

The Hegner stand (metal and overpriced) has just 3 legs but the rear has the single leg rather than the front, The only advantage I can think of with 3 legs is that it won't wobble if the floor is uneven, however most scroll sawers would easily be able to correct a wobbly 4 legged stand. I make...

    ...............

A man after my own heart! It's a long time since I actually bought any wood. Everything I make is made from recycled or scrounged timber mostly old furniture and scrap, most of my friends and relations know I am a scrimper and often bring their junk to me (lol not just wood) Some time ago we...
