old roughing gouge, any good for beginner?

Nice tool. It'll be fine. Older carbon steel tools need touching up more often that HSS but can actually be sharper.

    Bandsaw blade handy reference

Keep an eye on FB Marketplace, Gumtree etc. if you're not in a hurry. I sold a Woodstar BS12 with new bearings, a spare belt and ten blades for £100 because I desperately needed the space for a Record RSBS14 that I bought for £75, spares or repair. I replaced the wheel bearings, guide...

    No Fault Evictions

We had a couple of firms here doing the rounds of insulating the roofs of pensioners, people on benefits etc. free. I had had mine done as it was deemed sub standard - it 6"- 8". I found it rather sad that instead of rolling the new stuff over it to bump up the depth, they stripped everything...

    No Fault Evictions

Run by incompetents? Mine said I could jump from a D to a C by changing to low energy lightbulbs - there was one lamp in the whole place that wasn't low energy. He managed to miss 20 square yards of single sblock wall that should have cavity by regs. when built, though. He did make some...

    Electric vehicles

The problem, surely, is that it's in large towns and cities where electric vehicles should be encouraged, because that's where the pollution is and most journeys are short? They're also the places with the most properties not having off street parking.
