Hiya **** - thanks - you seem to have exactly the same question as what prompted me to start this thread!

    Air compressor fittings

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help? It's probably quite simple but I've never dabbled with air compressor fittings before as I've never had a mismatch. Basically my air compressor tools screw on to the hose. I want to buy a Makita AF505, which I gather uses a EURO connector. Any ideas what I...

LS1013 blade and a panel pin

My Makita LS1013 blade has encountered a panel pin in some reclaimed timber. I don't think it's cutting as smoothly as it was before, does this sound consistent with the circumstances and if so, is there anything to be done? Can the teeth be sharpened? It's not missing any teeth. I don't really...

Can anyone recommend a High Quality Drill Bit Set for Wood

Benchwayze, do you use 'normal' Dormer bits in wood to good effect? Just trying to find a decent drill bit set (3-12mm in 1mm increments) that isn't as expensive as Famag. Thanks!

router compass vs bandsaw circle jig

Ah I see - I have a router table - so I could easily make the slots on the table yeah?

router compass vs bandsaw circle jig

This sounds good - but I don't know how to create the counter slots. The write-up refers to but that presumes a knowledge I don't yet have. :)

Would anyone be willing to help with a circle or two?

Hi! I am refurbishing a child's tricycle. The woodworker who built it did so decades ago in the States. He made circular 'washers' for the wheels from 'baltic' birch plywood. My problem is that one of these is missing and I need to replace it. I don't yet have a way of cutting circles from...

router compass vs bandsaw circle jig

Hi I would like to buy the router compass or built the bandsaw jig. Does anyone have any tips or thoughts on what I should do? My thoughts are that the router compass will give a better finish/edge, but that the bandsaw jig might be quicker, safer and quieter to use? THANKS

What to buy: DX ducting or cheapie drill press

I've got some Christmas money I'd like to spend on my hobby and I'm not sure what to do. I don't know whether to buy a drill press (one of the £50-£75 ones, so not going to be particularly good quality) or get the Axi 100mm ducting kit which would allow me to have outlets for my P/T, router...

    Trend drill bit in collet

I've been using my Trend Snappy set recently and have been frustrated by how the drill bit very easily spins in the collet! I have tightened the thread in the vice and haven't noticed an improvement. Is this just a fact of life for this type of product? Thanks for your experiences...!

    Does anyone know where ?

Thanks all. For future forum users/Googlers: In the end I am paying 4x the normal price to have it sent from Chiltern Timber. Seems to be the only place in the UK that still sells 1/4" (6.4 mm) pegboard. It's extremely rare to find a stockist of pegboard/perfboard and if they do have it or can...

    Routing a roundover

I think in the US a dedicated roundover bit is a lot more common than it is here. I don't see any of the US guys fiddling about to get the height right with their bits to avoid a ledge?

    100mm tight connection

Actually I think it must be the Axminster TS-200. Because the plastic adaptor on the end of the hose fits onto the router table, P/T and bandsaw without complaint. But when I try to get it on the TS-200? No go. They are exactly the same diameter so can't "mate". Any ideas? THANKS

    Axminster fence upgrade

I have the Axminster "bandsaw" fence upgrade for my table saw. Lots of people use it for this purpose and it used to be called just "fence upgrade" (without portfolio). What I found recently is that I could calibrate the fence to be accurate for a range, for example between 100-110cm or from...
