    Texturing kit

Have you had any practice with it yet? If so, how did you get on? I am itching to have a go myself after watching lots of videos. Some of the options are still unavailable, I think I'll go with the crown mini tool.

    Helix Metal Desktop Pencil Sharpener

This Pentel one has served me well compared to the cheaper ones. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pentel-P365-0-5mm-Mechanical-Pencil/dp/B00JCM0QCO Retractable and well made. To fit through guides you need an 05.mm lead

    Opinions on online woodwork tuition

I have learnt a lot from some of those mentioned already. I still suffer with some of the faults you mention but it's getting better all the time. If you know where you went wrong, you can fix it next time. I am no where near the 10,000 hours that you need to be good at something but I' chipping...

    Alternative to micro mesh

Yorkshire grit works great with acrylics. I have yet to try the microfine one. Burnishing cream is another thing to try as well.

    Gaming

The only game I am interested in these days is Assetto Corsa. A racy sim that has recently been updated with a thing called Content Manger that opens it up with more tracks and cars. Free, with a pay what you want upgrade. A few laps round Nordshleife is a test of your motor skills and is very...

Table Saws - Best on a budget?

I would strongly suggest not skimping on such an important and dangerous machine. A 10" is the minimum size for even the smallest shop. You will also outgrow it very quickly. https://www.recordpower.co.uk/product/premium-10-bandsaw#.YAIf6Oj7RjE I'm sure Makita will have a similar model if you...

    Flooring suggestions for workshop

I have been using my set of four for over two years, they have been durable and easy to clean. Two in front of the lathe and two for the bench.

    Matabo bandsaws - any users?

I have one of their table saws and it has been very good to me. I would be interested in what others think of the brand. Re - sawing is the most demanding task the saw will do, so size is important. That model looks a bit small to me.

    Wanted Joint Genie

I am a genie with joints but I am not for sale. I have not heard of said contraption, I imagine it is some sort of pocket hole jig?

How many active turners remain in UKWorkshop ?

I'm sure your father would have loved to demonstrate his skew skills to you. We always had something better to do in our youth. I am about three years in and am still intimidated by the skew. I intend to take some classes on just that when the times are right. The only one I have came in a set...
