    Peter Parfit UJK guide system

Anyone seen the YouTube video yet? http://youtu.be/5usysrkgQBo Personally I like Peter and I like the idea of this. If I'm honest it's a little bit costly for me as I can get CNC stuff done easily but I may well still purchase! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What To Use

Slightly off topic: I needed a safe to store iPhones and iPads at work. Our property guy said he'd get one. When it arrived I thought it wasn't good enough £50 job. So I ordered a Yale one at about £250. I installed the Yale and bolted it to the floor. We still had the cheap one so I put that...

    Ply

The MDF question is valid and my youngest's current bed was made with MDF. I'm generally Trying to move away from MDF in the workshop - mainly due to the dust concerns. I also don't think the edges paint well as the "grain" lifts and goes fluffy. (Not so much with MR MDF). However that isn't...

    Blast gate location

I just have an old tent peg with a 10mm right angle at the end. That gets into the groves and gets rid of anything stuck in the slot. I use it with the gate open and extraction on so any debris is sucked away. I very rarely have to use it at all. I can see that taking apart would be an...

    Ply

I'll look into birch ply but I fear the cost might be an issue. I probably want 6-10 sheets (not worked it out yet) so an extra 40% is going to add up. Maybe an extra £150-£200. That's quite a lot. This is for my kids bedrooms. What is the difference between structural and non structural ply...

    Blast gate location

I have my blast gates as close to the machine as possible for ease of use. I personally I can't see you loosing much suction by having it elsewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ply

I'm struggling a little with understanding ply and why to buy. I am going to build some loft beds for my children. One of which will have a ply facia. If you're look at the longest side of the bed then each side will have a board (not the ends of the bed) and then the whole length of the bed...

    What To Use

I can't see MDF or ply standing up to a crowbar. Is there an option to put a metal box or safe inside the cupboard? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My wife tried to kill me.

I spoke to my wife after reading this thread and she confirmed she did know how to switch the power back on. So that was a lesson learnt. Got in today and she said the power had just tripped, she sorted it out but now the cooker says "stop". I was tempted to tell her the cooker was her dept. but...

    Tool Box

Use my new toolbox combo today and it worked really well. Biggish hand tools in the tote and then smaller items, small boxes of drill bits etc. all in the systainer. So far I'm pretty pleased. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tool Box

I don't mind! The tool box was around £25 and the sys 2 about £30. I think the screw box was around £40. But basically the tool box solution was £55, which I didn't think was too bad for the size of it and conscience of the systainers to match the rest of my kit. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Rider Planes

Well I popped into Axminster today and did as some of you suggested and bought the Veritas Low Angle block plane. I had a go with it, the Rider and the Lie Nielson and just fell for the Veritas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tool Box

Ended up buying the Festool tool box, plus a sys2 to go underneath and a sys 1 with the containers for screws. Seems to all be very good and ideal for my needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Karcher wd2 on special offer at screwfix

I've got one and use it as my vac for my dust collection system. Works well and is cheap. Copes with my small p/t. Also does wet which has been useful. The tubes to make up the vac brush could be more robust but I don't use them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What tool did you buy today?

Slight concerned my saw might come back worse than when it went in! I bet it comes back in a different box! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What tool did you buy today?

Well they arrived and for the hell of it I stacked them with my other systainers and being the sad guy that I am, I like what I see. Now all of these came in a nice big cardboard box from Nuts and Bolts. I need to send my table saw back to Axminster, do you think it's bad form to use the...

Lots of cladding - which nail gun/nails

I assume you already have a compressor? If not it might be cheaper to go for a battery option. I've got the Ryobi 18g one and it's really good. I used it for loads of cladding work over the summer and it didn't miss a beat. I paid around £100 for it but I've seen them for significantly more. I...

My wife tried to kill me.

My wife wouldn't know how to switch a circuit back at the consumer unit so I don't need to worry! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My TS-200 fettling and saw/RT bench build thread...

The TS200 went end of life last year it's now the TS20 -2. Main difference was a new fence and it's not backwards compatible which is a shame! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Axminster Sittingbourne 2 day turning course review

Excellent report. Thanks for sharing. 5% does seem a bit tight. Almost better offering no discount than one that looks tight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
