    The wider board I just sanded and wet it and it's come up quite well

    Well i managed to run the narrower board over the planer and hopefully this is clearer now. Also took a picture of the bark

    Also the reddish board has a thick coarse bark if that is of any help. I will take some more pictures

    Thanks for the info, the 1st one is approx 850mm across. The second is about 200mm across and has patches of flecking just like beach which isn't that visible in the picture.

    Hello all, I have come across some timber boards and wondered if anyone could help identify what species they are. At first glance I thought the reddish one was elm but I'm not entirely sure, as to the other wider board I don't really know. Any help would be greatly appreciated
