Router Table Insert - Group Buy

Can you stick me down for the 10th aluminium plate and rings please. I CAN drill and tap myself. I don't have any taps nor the skills but any excuse to buy new tools and how hard can it be...

Record Vice re-fitting - screws missing

My thanks to all on the thread and sorry for the slow reply. I don't get to spend as much time in the shed as I would want. With the helpful delivery of a suitably sized bolt from 9fingers (thanks again!) and searching on ebay I put the vice together. Of course once i had done so I found the...

    Woodwork stuff from Aldi

I've bought 24v drill, router table, morticer and bench grinder/belt sander. The drill is good, a bit on the heavy side, but it drills and the battery lasts reasonably, although not if left in the charger. A good brand would provide as much power for less weight and longer lasting batteries...

    Saw Blade (very prompt service)

I wanted to replace the blade on my cheap Clarke TS but as it's a 16mm bore I couldn't find a Freud or other quality replacement from the usual suppliers. Found this thread and ordered online from Workshop heaven on Thursday, about £5 cheaper than a Freud. Blade was with me Friday lunchtime...

Record Vice re-fitting - screws missing

I want to fit the Record 52 1/2, that I purchased from the tip, to my new bench. Unfortunately I bought it over a year ago and took it apart for cleaning and never quite got round to fitting it back together again...Which of course means I've lost all the screws. What size do I need? Reading...

    mdf painting and finishing.

Anthony, I would be careful about using MDF in the van conversion. Saving weight is probably your biggest issue and MDF isn't light. My LWB transit has a max gross weight of 3.2 tonnes and it weighed 2 tonnes before I added anything to the interior. Add in a couple of people, watertanks, and...

    Campervan Cupboard Catches

Not sure if they have what you want but these are some selfbuild motorhome links I have compiled in the past http://www.magnummotorhomes.co.uk/ http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/ http://www.towsure.com/ I do have mroe somewhere, but can't find them at the second. I seem to remember the name of...

WIP - Yet another workbench - warning a little large.

@Boz I would like to say I knocked it up in the weekend but it's in progress for quite a few (lots) months. Normally languishing in the corner while I get on with something else like fitting the floor in the utility room. Strangely, despite looking after a new baby, I've had more chance to work...

WIP - Yet another workbench - warning a little large.

I am a relative newcomer to the world of Woodworking, although I've been playing around with DIY for a while and a partial motorhome conversion. I am a proud possessor of a shed (renamed The Workshop when the better half is around) and while it's got a bench I though I ought to build a more...

    Drawer size

Hmm, the legs are essentially 50mmx75mm with 12mm ply panels on the side. I was going to screw directly into the legs and the ply for the runners which I think will give me enough support. However, you've made me think, perhaps there will be too much movement across the front rails and the space...

    Drawer size

I'm building myself a workbench at the moment (WIP when I get enough posts to beat the spamulator) and I want to fit some drawers between the legs. This is very much an apprentice piece so I'm often without a clue. I intend to fit FE runners but I'm now trying to work out what size I should make...

    Setting up a (cheap) Morticer

Thanks - the method seems quite simple when pointed out! The guidelines on setting the drill to chisel are useful as well. OLD - thanks for your reply as well. I may get one of the Trend gauges as well.

    Setting up a (cheap) Morticer

Hi All, I'm a forum lurker finally getting round to posting... A while ago I bought one of the Aldi Morticers. I've now set it up and want to use it to create joints in softwood (50mm x 75mm) for my workbench support. I was aware when buying it, from here and previous experience with Aldi...
