I used to have one of these. Great at branches and dry twigs, but put anything green or bendy in it and it would clog. Used to have to leave cuttings for a few days to dry out before attempting to stick them through the shredder. Eventually the motor blew and I tipped it. Never bothered...

Good guess - 532mm from top of table to bottom of the wheel housing unit. My cabinet is less tall than the factory supplied one as I needed to lower the overall height of the saw due to ceiling restrictions. It makes for a lower working table height but that suits me.

Hope you enjoy the saw. I've had mine for a couple of years and have just had to replace a couple of guide bearings; they're a standard size and readily available so no real hassle. The saw's biggest downside in my experience is dust collection; the only DX point is by the lower wheel, there...

Ouch!! Thanks for having the fortitude to post that on a public forum where we can all learn from your misfortune. My TS scares the cråp out of me, to the point that I bought a bandsaw and do all my rip cutting on that instead.

Actually, no... the purpose of EGR is to reduce the amount of oxygen in the mixture thereby lowering the combustion temperature and as a result producing less NOx. The soot and other particulates that are re-introduced as a by-product are undesirable as their abrasive nature can shorten engine life.

I have this saw and have to agree with the OP's rant - particularly with how fiddly it is to set up, especially the lower guides. Mind you, if you think the DX is useless, try using the saw without it!

I have an Evolution SCMS. The multi material blades are rubbish in wood. Replaced mine with a negative rake 60 tooth blade from Axminster... now cuts superbly with minimal tearout. Edited to add - needed a converter ring from 1 inch bore to 30mm.

Thank you for this thread, following with great interest. Especially keen to learn how your battery performs when it finally gets added. Are there limitations in where the inverters, battery, isolators etc can be installed? For example could they be be put in a (fully accessible and boarded)...
