    If it's a corner cabinet you could probably just trim the back that's against the side wall? Wouldn't need to rebuild the cabinet? Depends how long the run of cabinets is you could just trim the backs? Take some pics

    I wouldn't even consider a non-sliding mitre saw nowadays, the sliding versions can do a lot more, they're just as accurate, and easier to use IMO.     Bought a Mafell mt55 plunge saw. Bit of an issue...

    They're offering to fix it so just send it back? I don't see the problem you have with Maffell? They probably want to look inspect it properly and work out how it got kinked in the first place too.

    Before starting to make this can I suggest you cut the shape out of some cheap ply just to see how it looks before you go to all the trouble. I have a feeling it would look better with straighter steps just with the corners rounded off.

    Stanley 99e are what I use, and I use a stanley every day.They far outlast any others, I normally lose them before they break! Cheap too, don't think they even cost a fiver.

    Sounds daft but are you sure it's losing power? Couldn't be that the sandpaper sleeves are loose?
