    Fox F22-565 planer/thicknesser BLADES

Hi I have no experience of your Fox planer, but I was able to get replacement blades for my loooong-out-of-manufacture Inca planer on Ebay. I had to search by the blade dimensions, rather than by name (otherwise the only "hit" I got was v v v expensive). Do you know the size of your blades? HTH

    Brass Hooks

As stated, the interweb (Ebay or Amazon) will be your friend. On the highstreet, I've found Wilkinson to be cheaper for that sort of stuff than B&Q or Homebase etc

What model is this? Inca planer

Hi Thanks all for the replies and info. I'll try to get some more pics taken and posted.

What model is this? Inca planer

Thanks all for the help. H S - glad to see your positive review! I haven't been able to use it yet as the existing blades are far too dull, but it certainly seems very well constructed - the attention to detail in keeping the fence square to the tables is great! How well did you find the...

What model is this? Inca planer

Hiya I just acquired this Inca 8" planer. It also came with a surface thicknesser (not pictured). Can anyone confirm the model number, as I can't see it marked on there anywhere, and I need to get a new set of knives. Thanks!

    Boots

I bought a pair of Magnum Panthers from Black's. As well as having a incredibly naff name, I don't think they're very comfy.

    OH!! OARS AN ROLLOCKS

Hi Pardon my electrickery ignorance, but I can only seem to find replacement switches with 4 contacts. As they are (unsuprisingly) plastic-cased, I don't see how/where the earth would be attached. Or, is it because a plastic case doesn't need an earth - in which case, would one simply join the...

    OH!! OARS AN ROLLOCKS

That's a good idea, thanks for the tip.

    OH!! OARS AN ROLLOCKS

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried re-wiring with new flex, and got the same result. Thanks

    OH!! OARS AN ROLLOCKS

SUCCESS!!!! Sort of... Turns out that the motor is completely fine. It is the switch that's the culprit. When the switch is taken out of the equation (i.e. the motor is wired straight to the plug), it runs perfectly. Unfortunately, I can't see what's wrong with the switch, so that looks like...

Hi there Many thanks for the generous offer. PM sent.

    OH!! OARS AN ROLLOCKS

Thanks both. No offence meant re the accessories - I already have a b/s and planer, so it just doesn't make sense for me to buy more. I'll pull the motor apart and have a look. I can't make it any more no-worky than it is already, and if it turns out to need re-winding, then it'll need a new...

    OH!! OARS AN ROLLOCKS

Glad you're back up and running (turning). I've also got a Coronet Major with a no-worky motor. I tried replacing the capacitor, with no effect, so I'm now suspecting the centrifugal switch. Can I please ask the symptoms you had with yours? Also, is yours a maroon one or blue? DickM - when...

Reasonably priced dust mask that won;t fog up my specs?

As the days get colder, the perennial problem of fogged-up specs has returned. Can anyone recommend a reasonably-priced dust mask that won;t require me to de-mist my glasses every 30 secs? Much obliged. p.s. someone suggested a full-face mask, but I'd prefer one that just goes over my...

    Bandsaw blades

...so if you're not sharpening the old blades, or chucking them away, then what are you doing with them? I've heard of people using bits of wide bandsaw blades to make marking knives and similar.

    clever/inventive uses for pitted chisels?

Great ideas - thanks all. It's a firmer. I tried to take some pics, but they're rubbish. I'll have another go at the weekend in daylight.

    Coronet Major - query

Thanks both. Will get the capacitor tested, and see if I can get the beast running. Then I'll look in to the speed control jobby.

    clever/inventive uses for pitted chisels?

Thanks. Some are pretty deep, but if there's a patch with only shallow ones, then this might be a go-er. Cheers
