    Small bookshelf - WIP

I really like that it. Nice to see a work in progress and that is a handsome piece of furniture. I like the shape of that stained glass window and its impressive to see a multi skilled project such as this. Brill!! Owen

    Soft close chest lid stays

I used some of the soft closure torsion hinges on a chest from Woodfit. While they removed the requirement for the brackets the force they put on the back rail was substantial. Those look a very nice alternative. Good find Owen

    my new workbench build

Very nice. It just goes to show a bit of skill and some thought goes a long way. I expect that you will get a few years out of that before you get the bench bug. Owen

    The Mask Cabinet...WIP

All looking very good keep up the wip. I for one find this the most interesting section of the forum, you get to see how other people approach problems and sometimes a sneak look at all their kit etc. I have learnt more from people projects than all the books I have ever read. Its frustrating...

    Wall Tool Chest (potential WIP)

Interesting. I have plan for a tilting chisel rack and was considering how to approach the saws or even to fit them in. I would be interested in other ideas as their is less out there on the web to copy or get inspired from than you think. I guess not everybody is willing to waste this much time...

    Wood Identification

First wood definetly sinks in water as tested in the childrens bathwater last night. Second wood i will try to cut an end grain to get an idea. I think it may just end up being mystery tough heavy reddy woody species!

    Wood Identification

I am fairly confident that the first log is lignum vitae now. The grain does not seem right for greenheart and is very greasy which and waxy which I think is the key. Its possible that the second is ekki the grain looks similar. I had though it might be ipe but I am not sure what that looks...

    Wood Identification

    Wood Identification

I can confirm when i first bought it it was heavy when dropped on ones toe due to being slippy it made a very dense wringing noise if that helps.

    Wood Identification

I require help identifying some mystery wood. I intend to use these to make my tool holders in my tool chest and both were bought on a wing and a guess. One was from a commercial wringer/roller and is so heavy i struggle to pick it up. The other larger plank is just as dense. While cutting and...
