    Axi CT1502 Jointer Knives

I would like to reccommend Cutting solution services. I have been frustrated with changing my sedgwick planer blades because I am lazy and a bit rubbish. He located a souce of indexable planer blades which allow you to change the blade in seconds. It is fantastic I cannot believe i did not get...

    Popular Woodworking

I read this recently and I thought the depth of detail in the articles was very good. However it seemed quite slim and therefore not the best value for money when bought from WHsmith . I particuarly liked some of the articles concerning cabinetry with carving which was an area I had never really...

    Latest Modification in my workshop

I have a sedgwick planer that I have mounted on castors that works a treat. I found some wedging and levering with 2 by 4s made lifting and fitting the castors fairly straightforward. Its not to bad if you can get one end up. After that it just repeating and blocking up. Owen

That is a lovely piece. I think the proportions are brill. I have just done some work in sycamore and it seems a lovely wood to work with. I just wish it was going to come out looking like yours.

    my

Am i missing something? It looks like two frisbees hinged together with some magnets stuck on. It look likes the sort of thing that gets a good going over on Dragons den. All the best to the guy but I cannot see anything special about it. Owen

    power feeder

As the voice of bitter experince I would be carefull about the power feed you buy. I have a Hammer b3 and the smaller powerfeeds do not have a long enough bar to reach the spindle fence. |This is very disapointing after putting together a big power feeder  I bought an axminster power feed...

    sedwick planer

I had this probem when i brought a second hand one off ebay. I had to do two things: 1. Clean the rollers with brass brush and wd40 which to be honest solved the issue. Its surprising how much difference this made. 2. I tweaked the spring pressure to get optimum results this just improved the...

    Multico Morticer problem

I have not posted a while due to the birth of my first son. I have had a chance to get a couple of hours in the works tonight and have a problem. I have an old k series multico morticer which i stripped back to clean out dust. However I took off the motor housing as it is secured by 4 bolts...

i have got the double egde trimmer help set up

I have had two, one was fine and the other needed a little adjustment. The finish can be a little variable but that could also be operator error. I have found wax on the side helps a little. Owen

Anybody got a couple of bits of Maple they don't need

I have a fair few bits that i would send to you for the cost of postage. Or if you are passing Nottingham you could collect. The maple I have is about 40mm thick and upto 350mm in length and variable width. Owen

    10.8 volt tools

I thought the review was very good in British woodworking but I thought they were a bit hard on the impact drivers. I personally would struggle without mine. It great for rusty screws and general jig assembly. Its surprising how easy slot headed scres can be eased in and out with the impact...

    Moving heavy machinery, new workshop

I have come to this post a bit late and while it does seem like a big job I think with a bit of thought it will go ok. I have the a hammer b3 saw spindle and I have had to move it twice in the last 8 months. What surprised me is how much of the machine you can take off to save weight and reduce...

    Shop Tour

You have got a lot of stuff in there. Nice to see a washing machine handy for if you get your overalls dirty. Its also great to see someone else who's workshop is not dust clutter free (no offense). Owen

    This months F & C Magazine

I'm not saying that F and C is naff after all I keep buying it. I just think some of the aricles could be fleshed out a bit. I want to know more and that why I buy magazines therefore if I see an article on a subject I would like a little more detail. The machine reviews are usefull for me as I...

    This months F & C Magazine

I don't want to start the whole slating magazines because I think it is a tough job and I would be awful at it. I really enjoy F and C and buy it every month. That aside I think it has a strange mix, it seems to aim at the experienced end of the market but find many of the articles lack depth...

    Working Long Boards

I tend to kneel in a praying position at the end of the bench cursing the length of wood as I cut. I appreciate this may not be the best advice though. Owen

    Cherry Table WIP

That is very a very sad sight. I detect a little bit of the rage monster may have been released there. I have some english cherry that I picked up off ebay (about a trees worth) and when I planed it up in preparation for a project it seemed a little wild to say the least so i can see...
