How can they sell it for that price

The ones described above were all breadboard ended. Albeit biscuited, but making them too nice made them look like every other shop bought one.

How can they sell it for that price

Quite a while ago, I found a joinery factory where you could load your car boot for a fiver. During the summer there were some splendid offcuts. Now there are lots of folks with log burners, I have no chance. Told this story before: at the time, Jamie was all the rage so I copied his forty...

    Un-be-flippin'-lievable

I would guess the buyer is banking on ol' Hockney snuffing quite soon. They might get a very quick and profitable return on the investment.

Once of the best presentations I've ever seen

IF global warming comes to be, can we use all the wind turbines to create a cooling breeze?

    Post-Brexit international tool shopping.

I was on holiday in Madeira the other week. At breakfast in the hotel a German chap asked me about leaving the eu, all very good natured. I jokingly said after next year, there would only be his country paying for the lot. His attitude changed and he said this was a big concern (back home)and...

    Garden Fencing

Far more attractive fence panels than those in your photo are available. They just slot in, five minute job for two blokes. They are not cheap but cheaper, easier and faster than what you propose.

Once of the best presentations I've ever seen

China, USA and Germany are perfectly happy burning coal , which I assume is much worse than oil. In each case we buy their goods so are importing a carbon load.

Surprisingly nuclear doesn’t switch on and run all the time. There are refuel outages and statutory outages (mot and service). In an ideal world they run about nine months of the year. So add a few more to your calculations

The Ups and Downs ...mainly Downs..of selling a flat.

I am trying to get my head around why you accosted a besuited stranger to ascertain the time when you already possessed means to do so about your person.

    Use more wood

Nice to see action rather than the usual whining. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/macr ... -wmlrf2f3g Sounds like a good idea regardless of your feelings about global warming

The Ups and Downs ...mainly Downs..of selling a flat.

As a retired chartered professional, and looking back. I only wore a suit for meetings and conferences, which were essentially a waste of my talents. So I guess it was all a con the days when I wore a suit.

The Ups and Downs ...mainly Downs..of selling a flat.

I am trying to buy a bungalow. Vendor is one of these firms that give you cash in return for your house when you snuff it. They wanted to complete in 20 days including Christmas holiday period. Obviously we told them to get lost. Finally got from them the papers this week (remember it was them...

To (ol) well or not to (ol) well? That is the question

I have a tool well and as others say it's just a pita. Surely your recent infestation is due to the time it was in storage, not the original. Assume the brut treatment has done its job and assuming the bench is not falling apart why bother with a new one? Just shorten the legs.

If my dad wasnt dead I'd kill him

Bit unreasonable Lons, Started off as a jokey observation. Us old gits must regularly think " if only I had known that when I was twenty" about lots of things.

My house is worth a little over ten times what I paid for it. Then I was on a bit better than the average salary, average salary is now ten times what it was then.. So no change in fourty years. Of course I don't live Dan sarf but up north where we all live in mud huts and live on benefits.
