Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

As a sort of end note on why I originally posted The buyer concerned paid the paypal invoice, I despatched the goods and had a nice message to say everything was perfect So alls well that ends well Its been interesting to hear the views of others which seems split about 50/50 as to whether...

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

Yes I mentioned the Clarkson one at the start, it was said to be a bank employee who did it for a laugh, Jeremy stopped it It seems the person who owns the account usually has to go through the full procedure to set up a DD, prove identity etc, whereas a company can set one up themselves, but...

    A portrait.

Ahh but this is how we all learned, in braille ;-) As I said earlier I really dislike spirals but we all like different things don't we, I prefer to enjoy cutting rather than fight with it, and the amount of finishing required after spirals I found annoying As you say, many use spirals to...

    A portrait.

Spirals are a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them I am in the latter camp ;-) I have them and have used them, but do not enjoy using them, so try and avoid them if I can Which I usually do as I do not know of an instance where a spiral could do a better job, except if you...

Is Car S.O.S turning into Top Gear

To be honest, until I saw this thread, I have never heard of Car SOS Just watched a few snippets on youtube, didn't seem to bad, although quite basic, I mean who doesn't know what a bell housing is? (most kids today I suppose) As to being turned into Top Gear, well frankly nothing will ever...

    A portrait.

Steve Good does a CD tutorial on scroll saw portrait making http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ There are also quite a few videos on youtube, on the subject Less is more in most cases I found ;-) Add too much detail and it detracts from the overall effect I like this portrait posted...

    Aldi masonry paint ??

Thankfully its just a back wall and only about 6ft or so high, I was contemplating whether to also paint the stone side and rear walls which surround a small yard, neither very large, but suspect I am making a rod for my own back in doing so

    Aldi masonry paint ??

It may come to that Are there any banks left to rob ;-)

    Aldi masonry paint ??

I hear what you are saying, but what if this *is* the best I can afford ;-) Dulux = 10l for £30 Sandtex = 5l £29 I think Aldi's is 5l for £6.50 So I guess its not likely to be to great for that price

    Aldi masonry paint ??

Thanks for that I forgot to look at the pot earlier Not knowing the company or products it doesn't take me further though but appreciate the pointer

    Aldi masonry paint ??

We all know that Aldi stuff and its limitations One product I haven't seen mentioned is their masonry paint Anyone used it? is it any good A lot of Aldi retailed stuff is fine, although within aforementioned limitations but don't want to waste time on having to do something twice

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

As a small follow up to the reason I originally posted The person wanting to buy from me and asking for my bank details to transfer the sum, I replied asking for name and address and an email address to send a Paypal invoice instead Nothing heard since , I feel if the enquirer really wanted...

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

Yes that was my thought on it One went on after suggesting using Paypal instead, to say that a transfer by family and friends in Paypal was not only without a fee but was not reversible, which I believe is wrong

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

I was thinking more Vera Lynn

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

Ah, I was thinking of a Bluebird as opposed to a Blue Bird ;-) White Cliffs and all that :-)
  17. W

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

Yes, you have to jumo through hoops (as I would with my bank) but apparently others can set up a DD without your knowledge or permission

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

With Paypal, they are always on the side of the buyer If a buyer says they didn't receive it, Paypal will refund it with little or no quibble One reason I don't really like using them for a private transaction, plus the fees But the seller will always lose out

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

You can't, but can anyone else? It appears they can

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

As you say, we have enough to contend with without making our lives even harder ;-) Not for £6 anyway The banks I asked were Nat West & Barclays, not sure who has the Bluebird
