    I just bought an Axminster!

If you mean it has an NVR switch, thats standard fitment, I find no problem with it personally Some like to fit a foot switch but have no idea why, and that requires the bypassing of the NVR switch With some use you will find the nylon bushes wear quite quickly

    I just bought an Axminster!

Personally I detest spirals, I do not enjoy them at all so I stick to flat blades (Pegas usually) Does your AWFS18 have a quick clamp ? If not put one on your wish list Apart from a good clean out of the dust that builds up, lube the points in the manual periodically (about every two months...

    Framing your cuts

You did better than me I couldn't find the product to send a link to it ;- ) Its not an expensive kit is it

    Framing your cuts

Some do, some don't I have overcome that on some by adding a corner plate on the rear made from offcuts of hardboard or 3mm ply (ie where backer and piece are flush with the rear of the frame or stand proud of it)

    Framing your cuts

Whilst the pattern may not be a standard size, but if you afix it to material of a standard size it will fit a standard frame I use second hand frames but also make a few myself, dowels, pinned, or bracketed

Quite so I don't know if you have ever used one of the lower end saws with the hanger type blade clamps, although they work, they are so long winded and slow to use If thats all there was I think I would have given up long ago ;-)

    Smoking wood ;-)

I have always been a little wary of using superglues anyway but this has made me even more so Its not a reaction I would expect but I guess we must expect the unexpected Many years ago in the early days of superglues, in a garage where I once worked, one "wag" thought it would be amusing to...

    Smoking wood ;-)

Thanks for that, no I wasn't thinking of sniffing the wisp of smoke :-) Smoke was just the most apt description to use I could think of I don't use superglue very much but can't recall having this reaction before Point noted on its dangers

    Smoking wood ;-)

Well I split this pallet up a good two years ago and its been inside the whole time so would have thought it would be as dry as it could get but who knows It wasn't exactly a raging forest fire ;-) But definitely a wisp of smoke I wondered if some wee beasty was hiding in the crack and met...

    Smoking wood ;-)

No I don't mean putting it in your pipe ;-) I try and use recycled wood wherever I can, scroll saw work & band saw boxes mostly I had some pallet bearers, and the last one had a split right up the middle of one side So I thought I would try superglue first but its a bit watery so doesn't...

    Hegner parts - QR clamp

How long has the site been down? Perhaps just a temporary glitch But I very doubt if the part in question is available separately I may be wrong, but say the part is available and a few quid (nothing Hegner is cheap) then add postage and a probable wait from Germany, you would well on the...
