Any thoughts on selling your items via Ebay?

I haven't seen it mentioned but have you tried market place on facebook? the advantages are there are no costs (unless they use paypal) most are local buyers so collected, no packing , ebay everyone wants everything for nothing and you have ebay costs, paypal costs and packaging and posting, as...

    Hegner Tensioner

I think you would have to change the whole top arm assembly as the old version had no recesses in it You might post a picture of your top arm to confirm that You used to be able to buy the tensioner assembly but can't seem to locate anyone selling it now, hegner parts would be a horrendous...

    An alternative collection

This is a photo of the same one I had as a lad, in AA livery with working headlamps (for a while anyway ;-) a little lad down the street I used to play with had an Army jeep version of the same one The other is my brother in his pedal car circa 1937 It would be worth a few bob I suspect these days

    Anybody made any clocks?

He is asking about the watch type movement which simply fits in a hole cut to the right size with a thin gasket in between movement and the work piece Not the quartz type movement which is dependent on the thickness of the face as to the movement stem length

    Anybody made any clocks?

I just cut mine with a scroll saw, finish with a round sander in a drill press

    Anyone used this spray sealer?

Quite so, my feelings exactly, stuff advertised rarely matches the claims made Hence my curiosity as to whether this actually works or not I will hang in in case someone who has actually tried it responds

    Anyone used this spray sealer?

Has anyone used this stuff? Is it any good or another good selling ploy It looks useful but is it? And how long might it last? https://www.magoloft.com/products/super-strong-bonding-spray?variant=31977756327979

Did you pocket hole project wobble then fall apart?

Yes, much like auctions, you see a nice thing go for a pittance and a piece of cheap crap go for a bundle just because two people wanted it Mind you I have seen that on ebay where people pay more for a used item that you could get one new for Just people for you

Did you pocket hole project wobble then fall apart?

It was a bargain I admit, I did advise on some prices for other things they were selling, large cramps etc so didn't feel to guilty Like you I am looking forward to afternoons wandering round boot sales

Did you pocket hole project wobble then fall apart?

I have to agree with you, I have the Kreg jig which I bought at a car boot before all this kerfuffle with covid, for the princely sum of £1 I wasn't sure if I would do much with it so didn't want to spend out to much to use it Bought the stepped drill on ebay, screws & drivers from Axminster...

Axminster scroll saw, which is better?

You will not go far wrong with the AT460SS, I have its predecessor the AWFS18 and am more than happy with it If not supplied with the new saw the top quick clamp is in my opinion essential but otherwise its good to go

How not to make good use of a wolf drill stand

Money for nothing, its still on the telly, they have had a few different presenters, quite amusing if you have nothing better to do Particularly funny is when they go back to the bod who was throwing it away and say heres what we have done with it, (having taken some ramshackle heap of junk and...

    Axminster craft blade clamp

Not sure that should be necessary to be honest as long as you fit a plate on top of the clamp or invert the original

    Axminster craft blade clamp

Its the same saw sold by many retailers with minor differences It will do you well and is perfectly capable of achieving great results Practice is the key, the more you do the better you get at doing it much like anything in life Enjoy yourself

    Axminster craft blade clamp

I am guessing its this beastie It does not have the hanger type blade clamps which is a bonus Make sure the inside of the blade clamps are clean of paint for starters And each blade you use, scrub the last half inch or so across the blade both sides with sandpaper to remove the factory...

Best outdoor wood finish gable end boards (Cornwall UK)

Thanks for that, I had quite forgotten linseed oil paint, I have used that in the dim distant past I wasn't very clear in my post but was looking more for a wood treatment than a paint, although I may go that way on reflection Thanks again

Best outdoor wood finish gable end boards (Cornwall UK)

Thanks for that suggestion, not one I have heard of, appears to be a paint rather than a wood treatment One on the list thank you

Best outdoor wood finish gable end boards (Cornwall UK)

What would others recommend as the best and longest lasting finish that I can use on the gable end boards, they are not painted Its higher than other buildings around and quite exposed, we have some harsh weather in the winters so looking for the best to use And being the height it is I don't...

    Need a new scroll saw

Yes I also have the Axminster and am more than happy with it (with a quick clamp) I asked as the blade change on the Axminster is exactly the same as the Hegnar before they added the quick clamp as standard on the Hegnar, I thought you had identified some other problem Have you modified the...
