    Very basic dust extraction questions

I use a Scheppach HA 1000 vac with my router table, bandsaw, belt and disc sander, various power hand tools and an Abranet hand sanding pad. It came with a 100mm dia hose and an array of adapters. I move it around the workshop and hook it up where it is needed. I have used domestic plumbing...

    hinge suggestions please

I can't quite picture what the setup is, but I wonder if you could use leather or ribbon for the straps - even if it is only to get it 'finished' for your February deadline, then rework it when you have suitable hinges.

Did anyone buy the recent Lidl Parkside Glue gun?

My wife uses it for montages and some aspects of flower arranging/table displays and says that it has performed well. I have only used it once to temporarily tack two items together.

Did anyone buy the recent Lidl Parkside Glue gun?

I have the same glue gun and agree with your comments. I assume that Parkside have designed it so as to be able to connect/disconnect it from the power supply, when used in the cradle, for those people that might be wary of pulling out the live flex from the back of the gun, in order to go...

    Cookery Question

Re question 1. I would say that you should carefully cut thin slithers (about 1mm deep) of the outer skin, without cutting into the pith below, and then slicing them into thin strips approx 2mm wide. Re question 2. I would agree that the lardons should be browned before but have no experience...

Spindle Moulder Training Days Any One Been On Any Of These?

I did the Colin Searles one day routing course which covered hand routing and using a router table. I found all aspects of it very good (I had not used a router at all beforehand). Check out if the course covers all of what you want.

    Best Router

I have a DeWalt 625 in my home made router table. Height adjustment is via the existing threaded bar on the router - the original nut is replaced by a nylock one - a box spanner fitted with a suitable shaped end is used. I make coarse adjustments with Woodrat plunge bars, which are also used...

    Belt for Electra Beckum bas315

I have the 316 model and the belt for that (which might be the same as for your model) is marked :- PIX 'X' power 5PJ 864-HS. If you do a search using this part number it may confirm if it is for both models and also where you can source it from and at what price.

    Buying at the Harrogate Show

You should almost certainly get it cheaper at the show. I bought mine, in April, from a local supplier for £140 - collected.

    RPBS12

You might want to consider a replacement guide kit like this one - http://www.bedfordsaw.co.uk/blade-guide ... bs12-dmb65 I have it for an Elecktra Bekum and it is a vast improvement over the cast aluminium bracket.

MDF delaminating - can it be fixed.

These pics are of painted 'decorative end panels' of our kitchen units - installed 2008, both show signs of delaminating. Image 8480 is of the bottom edge of the fridge freezer housing and has probably got wet when the freezer has been defrosted. Image 8481 is the front edge of the panel on a...

Very nice work. With your combined experience of being a cabinet maker plus your recent re-training and your work since then, how far beyond your often quoted 10,000 hours are you?
