    What is David Charlesworth using?

From the moment man first started to make things anything like accurate, a starting reference point has been at the heart of simple consistency. Level, Plumb, flat and true, all impossible freehand or by eye by all but a special few who have a gift or considerable skill. This sounds like a...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

Well, due to the 14 day collection then refund timescale of Aldi, I decided to ask them to replace the thing that had turned up. No problem sir, we will collect tomorrow and send you a new one within five working days. Great so far... better than 14 days just to collect. Up A& E all next day...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

I will take another look at it later Custard and try that, I might as well, as Aldi will take 10-14 days to collect it then process a refund ( I'm not waiting that long) or I can take it to a store for a refund in 2-3 days, which is a nuisance. Also, I managed to knock over my first beer of...

    Mitre saw advice

I'm not a massive fan of Izzy swan of late but this actual jig is an old friend and (with a half decent circular saw of course) does the job spot on, especially good for repeatable angles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3F1SCsfNv4

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

WHAT A PIECE OF SHHIT!! There is no way I am owning this ridiculous pile of crud, the door catches don't even align/engage properly so the top door won't stay closed!!! It really is an awful piece of manufacturing. I didn't have very high expectations and it most certainly didn't exceed...

    How strong are dowel joints?

Never a truer saying... It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it! If, you know how to make things using dowels, and how to properly use them and what out of, but most importantly, when not to, then you my son will be a man! (Woodyard Kipperling) Every jointing method exists because...
