    Not enough power

I've got one like this: http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ho ... -extractor and put this in between the machine and planer/t saw http://www.carbatec.com.au/dust-separator-lid_c1830 And now its totally rubbish at pulling the chips away. :( Not enough power on the chip extractor is it? I...

    boxing in the extractor?

Presumably this is ok to do if I have a vent through the wall for fresh air? I'm using a collector bin first and I thought to box in the extractor to maybe stop some of the extra dust having a chance to fly around the place. I know its not ideal but better extractor filters are pretty dear and...

    Which Makita mitre saw?

I have the MLS100. Its a very good saw but its not the got the strongest guard in the world and other things are a bit plasticy etc. I've no qualms about its cutting ability, power or blade quality. Believe it or not it used to sell for about £50 when it first came out about 5 years ago.

    multitool recommendation

Bosch was rubbish. I'll never buy a bosch tool again, fell well below the standard. I'd had it a while but it wasn't "dirt cheap" when bought and lasted about 5-6 hours work max.

    Saxton Multitool?

Anyone got one of these? I'm working on the premise that given that they are multitool specialists they would have done a least a bit of research and produced a reasonably decent multitool? http://www.saxtonblades.co.uk/sbmt300w01-multitool-p429 Otherwise the 5 year warranty of this appeals...

    Toolnut.co.uk???

I don't believe the Rutlands lower quality QS thing. I think its a complete myth. I own 4 QS planes from Rutlands and all are good quality, and value. I hate this Rutland bashing by snobs on here, they have some great deals of good products and delivery has always been good.

    multitool recommendation

Thanks. I've sent an email to Bosch customer services. It is 4 years old but it has done very little work, I don't normally complain (yeah yeah!) but this one is a big dissapointment. I'll see what they say. Its not like the motor burnt out. I'll have a think about a better make otherwise...

    multitool recommendation

Bosch pmf180 has died after not a lot of work so I'm fuming. Can anyone recommend another one? The terratek on amazon is well reviewed. Worx and Stanley are similar prices in homebase with 3 yr warranty lidl have li-ion one for £40 next week which sounds ok.

    What Vacuum?

Wickes vac - I see no need to look any further. Cheap. Powerful. Well reviewed. You could put a little cyclone or dust bucket between as well but no real need as 20l isn't bad capacity.

    Missing threads

It was wrong to delete it. I wrote a fair comment about books being inferior to DVD's/ tutition etc. which was perfectly fair and it got deleted with the rest of it. Come on moderators - a forum is here for debate its disrespectful to delete people's comments if they've put thoughtful ones out...
