any suggestions on how to do this cut?

they do mate, but this isn't for actual drums, its for drum making tooling/jigs.... some will be 24" deep, some will be 8"... it varies greatly, it does not go up in any consistent scale of size but i tend to make most of my tooling/templates to the max, and the occasional smaller ones for the...

any suggestions on how to do this cut?

yeah id double clamp it anyway, we do when we cut straight down the middle, the funny thing is ply tubes dont ever seem to close on the blade, they have so much tension in how they are formed they open up away from the blade as you run down them, as the cut completes they spring open, so...

any suggestions on how to do this cut?

yes that was my thinking fully rasied blade, i work with drum shells so the guard is off most of the time, cutting them down in length (the most common job i do) means spinning the shell on the blade... cant do that with a guard on.... its horrifying i know :) its not a one off, it need to be...

dont think i was clear in my post, mentioning rotating the tube, I'm not wanting to twist the cut round the tube at all.. im wanting to do a single straight line cut without any rotation or movement once that tubes in place, hence thinking a sled with the tube fixed in place... id probably need...

BOSCH GTS 10 XC Dust extraction from crown guard

i have the old crown model & the IMO the extraction out the top of the guard is utterly useless.... even if i have a separate extractor hooked up under & then one over all the dust flys straight backwards past the extraction port.... i think thats why it was binned off... its also a pain to...

    Any advice on MDF variants?

if not MRMDF, (though its my choice, esp on the cnc ) the alternative is ring up a sheet pannel supplier and ask for any "router grade" MDF. any reputable supplier will know your needs instantly, they will supply one of the denser variants of MDF.... .. if i dont need MRMDF and they are out, its...
