    Junior Whitehead Planer

yes, i could fabricate something that would work but i would rather have a professionally engineered part rather than sometime i have put together, to pay for one off castings & parts machining for the tilt mech etc would cost way more than a complete used machine so I'm still debating wether i...

    Junior Whitehead Planer

Chaps, having picked up the little Dodd planer restoration project for at home, i have also decided to look for a bigger (not big) planer for at work, have found a Junior Whitehead machine that would be another restoration job. BUT, its currently missing its blade guard & its cast fence. the...

What to get in the way of storage boxes.

this goes against everything i would normally recommend, but i use loads of ikea boxes, both for parts & various tools storage, they are dirt cheap & IMO lids are a big advantage as having original had boxes with no lids, there is nothing worse than dust accumulating in boxes.

    Non-oily finish.

osmo, blended oil/wax finish... quick to do, feels very natural when fully dry, brings out the grain.

    which router for a table

i find i have to do a yearly clean out of mine. not a big job, i have had a couple of switch mech issues in mine too as they get full of debris from being upside down as well, so every so often i cant turn mine on, so i have to clean that out. forces my hand to give the whole machine a...

    little old planer project

ohhh, very close, a bit narrower but they look close enough no rebate edge though. i have saved that link. thanks. :) im not having trouble sourcing blades, if i need them cutting solutions can sort me some that are pretty much exact in just over a weeks lead time, which is brilliant.
