How do you prevent furniture scratching flooring?

We have terra-cotta floor tiles and they are quite soft. I have used the blue plastic jobbies and have found that they don't scratch the floor. How are you going to seal the oak? If it were me I would use hard wax oil. It's as tough as anything and usedon hotel reception wooden flooring. So it...

    100mm dowel/wooden cylinder

Phil's got the right idea. Put some dimentions together with a drawing and post it on the turning forum. I'm sure someone will help? Shame I'm not a lot closer or I would do it for you. I just thought? I for one would be interested in your barrel organ. Do you have any plans or is it an 'as you...

AES that is where the confusion is? A Paperwhite is lacklit and can be read by a black cat in a coalcellar at midnight mate  I have a Paperwhite and it's just as clear in our strong sunlight as in the dark.

    Don't forget Sunday

It would seem that the church don't even know when JC was borne and just knicked a pagen date for that, so how can someone just pop his clogs to benifit some bloke in Rome? Perhaps it's all bound in with the rest of the 'pick-n-mix' of their story book? Here too in France the fête...

    Don't forget Sunday

Mumz day is next week here, and it's on a Sunday  Thinking about different days for happenings? How come that JC was nailed up on one day one year and another on a different year? Is it a coincidence that it always happened on a Friday

    2pin plug

AES you are correct that they don't use ring mains. It's all star and you are only allowed a certain number of sockets on each spur of the star. As for the 3 pin plugs? The Frrench have 2 pins, line and neutral and a socket for the earth. They also have 2 pin plugs that are either round with...

    Are.

You mean as in "I are going "as opposed to "I is going"? And there're ways. I got my O level English when I were in the R.A.F. and that were at Brize Norton in about 1972 when I were 28. The R.A.F. pass mark for any exam were 80%. No grades, just pass or fail. They exams were much are-der then...

    2pin plug

Ta for that link Nev. I may well be getting a few of they things! As far as wiring into a U.K. 3 pin plug it depends as to whether you can wire it either way. If it's a lamp fitting, such as a table lamp or standard lamp, then it should be red/brown to the fuse and blue to neutral. Otherwise...

    Technique question... advice please

This is what I use when I'm doing anything like bangles or curtain rings. This was for 40 curtain rings at about 2 1/4" internal diameter, but a bit bigger and you have whatever size you need. Easy to make and cheap as chips. I recessed the slot for the jubilee clip so the screw part is not...
